Ava is working hard for a living, and putting up with so much in her job. Anthony is a male who thinks he's bigger than he is, and tries to take advantage of Ava. She narrowly escapes him and finds herself under the protection of Cyrus. She finds him irresistable and rightly so, he's all Alpha male. A cute story, with some dark moments, but all in all well written and recommended.

Not too dark mafia romance but really hot and romantic😍😍😍 If you like spanking from a hero then you will like this book cause this hero is all about spanking the heroine and be the man in bed. So very dominant in bed lol.

I love how they meet for the first time. The heroine was being kidnapped from a boy who she known when she was in high school and the boy is actually the new leader on the mafia in town so he wants the heroine. He wants the heroine since high school... When they were in the car, the heroine was rescued from that boy's right hand man... The heroine took the chance and run away. She runs to this italian restaurant hoping to rest and hide a bit. In there she meet the hero himself who owns the restaurant and since she came to the door, the hero wants her so very badly...Turns out, the heroine went to a perfect restaurant because the hero himself used to be a boss in the mafia and was very well known to everybody. And that's where the story begins.
Oh boy this hero really will do anything to have her and to keep her! No unnecessary childish drama... It was fun reading this.

Okay read. Very fast moving and the characters have sex once and are in love. Very rough sex and spanking. I know the female lead states she loves it but some of the interactions were cringe worthy. There is a significant age difference, but glossed over. Also who was the person that gave a way where he was hiding her. The bad guys motivates was thin, very thin. Overall okay read

Sigh. I appreciate the author warning that the book contained spanking. But she should have just said the majority of the book is spanking. I’m all for people to enjoy their own thing, but this book was a group of spankings, with some mafia-lite drama thrown in. And let me say, there is no relationship between H/h. Literally she is running from a mafia guy, she goes to his restaurant, he watches her eat and offers her protection and she just agrees to stay with him. Somehow she feels “safe” with a complete stranger who she’s never even really talked to. Enter spanking number 1 because she lied to a complete stranger about why she was scared (eye roll). She gets attacked and he takes her to safe house, where she leaves to go to the police because she is scared of this stranger a little maybe, but she really just wants to protect him (can’t seem to make up her mind). This leads to spanking 2, and seriously I almost quit reading here because not only does he spank her, he then welts her with a belt, AND then he fucks her in the ass basically against her will and purposely hurting her. But I guess she kind of likes it so it’s ok, it’s supposed to be a lesson to trust him. So then safe house 2, and she gets attacked again. This is where I just had to roll my eyes like my teenage daughter. So he keeps promising her multiple times that she is safe with him and she needs to trust him, to the point where these spankings are supposed to be teaching her she needs to let him take care of her. That’s like the big lesson. BUT every time he is “taking care” of things, she’s actually getting attacked and then has to basically kill the bad guy herself. And her reward? More spanking, and more eye rolls from me.

This is the first book I have read by this author. Every once in a while, I read a book that is not for me. This is one of them.
It started out ok. I was intrigued. Ava had encountered a danger and the suspense started to ratchet up. Ava encountered a protector. Not who I thought was going to protect her, but a self proclaimed protector all the same.
First, how is it as a single woman living in NYC, working in a bar, that Ava had absolutely no sense of self preservation?
How is it that Ava went from one dangerous dramatic situation into another possible one and asked no questions? (I do have to say that Cyrus seemed to be the lesser of two evils). BUT, Ava didn't ask him any questions at all? Yet, she proceeded to do something incredibly stupid with no thought to the consequences.
Someone promises you their protection several times. You don't have to worry, etc. How many times did he fail in his promises? I would have been asking him how he was going to discipline me and he couldn't even keep crazy man from getting close.
Ava meets Cyrus 24 hrs, maybe 48 hours prior to him not only deciding to cause her pain, but deciding she enjoys pain as well as the level of pain. "Sir, you don't know me that well." If pain is your thing, this probably won't be an issue. I was not sure if it was non con, or dubious con, but it didn't feel very consensual to me.
In spite of all of this, there was an interesting story about Cyrus' past, as well as his relationships with both Jon and James. The majority of the book was one steamy scene after another that after a while bit was easy to skim through them.
Let me not even get into the whole instalove thing. If you are offended by spankings, rough lower anatomy punishments, dub con or non con, or a bit of humiliation, you may want to pass on this one. My suggestion is that you read this book and judge for yourself.

Cyrus rescues Ava from a dangerous situation but she didn’t realize that he planned to keep her for his own. This is a fast-paced steamy mafia read with loads of drama and sizzling scenes. The chemistry is intense and the story entertaining. I liked it.

Darkish but not too dark, just enough to keep the reader on tenterhooks: will our heroine escape & stay safe from the vicious jerk holding a grudge from their past who wants to seriously hurt, if not kill her.
But Ava happens to stumble into Cyrus' quiet little world & thereby his attention, focus & control. Ans Cyrus is a huge, powerful & DOMINANT man who finds himself immediately attracted to the sweet terrified Ava.
This one is a very well written fast burn romance that kept me engaged & enthralled from the first to the last.
Ava is a sweet but intelligent heroine who has a submissive nature that is perfect for the dominant but very protective & possessive Cyrus.
There's intense delicious sizzle & steam between Cyrus & Ava along with existing & resurfaced dangers. Some punishments, some angst, some past sorrows that flavor the present but most of all this is a wonderful romance between a hard criminal lord who has a deeply gentle but stern nature & a lonely sweet woman who blooms under his love, protection & dominance.
A wonderful read. -

Hot story between Ava and Cyrus. I like instalove and this was that way once these two met. Of course, she's running from someone in her past and runs right into her future! Cyrus was trying to get away from his past but seeing Ava in trouble, he's reminded that he'll never be able to leave it behind completely. Short but so hot, I enjoyed watching these two learn about each other. But what happens when Cyrus is out trying to find the bad guy and he shows up where Ava is? Will Cyrus figure out what's going on in time? Will Ava defend herself? Loved it! My only complaint is I would have loved for it to be longer!! -
This started out so strong. It seemed like it was gonna be a good spicey short mafia story.
Okay her we go. Good lord, the spanking. Listen, I get it. we all have kinks, but this kink was Cyrus's WHOLE identity. I mean, I get you love spanking the girl, and she loves it so awesome, but it's literally talked about, referenced, thought about, etc, on EVERY page, if not every sentence. I stopped once he used the belt which whatever but then forced her to have sex in her ass. No, like leading up just hey, I'm gonna put this in your butt deal with it. Also, if you beg one more time for me to stop, I'm gonna use my belt AGAIN on you. Dude! Take it down a notch. -
Let me tell you that I am not complaining about this book at all. I totally am good with the fact that there was like 8 min of story then 52 minutes of everything else!
Cyrus is an ex-mafia big wig who decided to retire after he experienced traumatic loss. Until one night a young lady stepped into his restaurant all scared and running from whoever and in that instant, he decided that he would burn down the world to protect her.
From the small amount of background, Ava was just living her life going to college and working at a bar. She was walking down the street when her past came up and literally kidnapped her. She thought her life was going to be heading in a very dark direction until one of the kidnappers made a way for her to escape. She ran and ran, right into the radar of Mr. Cyrus Holt.
We do not have much background on him but later find out if he had some pull in his city and used to run it. He promises Ava her safety and decided that she will be his. And to be honest, she really didn't protest much. Now after that first day, Cyrus and Ava got the pages all hot.
You want some spice, you will definitely get some spice and more and more spice. You like spanks? You got it! You like a dominant male main character and a submissive female main character? Welp, you got that too!
Definitely enjoyed this one and I do need to read the next one. -
Oh! Welcome to the world of the mafia with an amazing Daddy. Cyrus and Ava are great together. Everything from the initial meet cute all the up until the end, the story flows really well and the development of their relationship is both adorable and hot, which you might think was hard to do, but not with Sara Fields. Cyrus makes for a great reluctant hero and Ava has all the makings for a great lg. Lots of ‘fun and games’ take place when Cyrus takes over (make of that what you will) and I will admit to inhaling this story in one sitting, it was that entertaining.

This was OK to me, but very heavy on the spice. Everything so so fast paced and definitely unbelievable.
Especially the whole being kidnapped, arriving at a restaurant and having the restaurant owner be a mob boss that is going to protect you, but also spanks you the very next day.
It’s just didn’t make sense and because it didn’t make sense and with how fast everything was going it wasn’t that enjoyable and also I realized me and pleasure pain aren’t Vibing!
So if you don’t vibe with Aunt, then you definitely should read this book because it’s nothing but a pleasure pain! -

Wow. That was very fast paced. One minute the h was scared and running for her life and the next she's falling for a stranger and "letting" him spank her and not even 48 hours after meeting the H he's spanking her with a belt and going up the tail pipe! Now it may seem like I'm ranting and it's a no for me....but it's not a no for me. Though I'm not sure about the whole insta-love, I really liked the mafia story line. The Alpha-Domination was hot and of course our H had that soft spot for our h and would literally murder for her.
Ava and Cyrus's story was hot, dirty and dangerous. -

Yeah this is a bit dark because it involves criminals and it has spanking and butt stuff, with action and danger. It has a lot of 🔥 🔥 🔥 that I enjoyed as I like smut and I think you will too if you like smutty romance. There is a very nice HEA and I look forward to more by Sara Fields. -

A guy from Ava's past, who is now mafiosa, abducts her but she escapes him and runs into an italian restaurant owned by Cyrus. Cyrus decides that Ava is now under his protection. Anthony, the guy from Ava's past still tries to get to Ava, but Cyrus isn't about to allow anyone to harm her, now that she's HIS. There is lots of smexy times and light dd/lg play. Cyrusis a great lover and protector and treats Ava well. A few spankings and dominance that's all good for this story line, I enjoyed it as I have every other book I've read by Sara Fields.

Plot: Ava is our 18 yo college chick with dead parents but a loaded “uncle” and guardian. To not lean too much on her uncle she found a job at a bar (at 18). After her shift she’s walking on her way home at probably 330AM in NYC….anywho she’s gotten many cat calls on the way home but a car is following her. She runs and gets captured by the people in the car who work for a boy she kicked in they balls who tried to force himself on her when they were in high school. Yup it’s the rich mafia dudes son who kidnaps her.
Apparently this mafia dude doesn’t have good people on his payroll considering that his own people forced an accident and gave her the means to escaoe. And escape she did right into the pizza jo8nt.
Even though she sprained her ankle and could barely walk after the accident she runs into the pizza joint and finds it in her to sit down and order 2 slices of pizzas and devours a comp glass of wine too.
That’s where she meets Cyrus who’s just across at the bar staring at her and assuring her she’s ok and safe and the people looking for her won’t find her.
She’s sooo grateful she breaks down in tears and lets her hold him. She even lets him take her to his place so she can sleep in the guest room. But she can’t help but looking at his loser kid. Seriously she hasn’t even spoken 5 sentences to this guy and doesn’t know him for shit.
Aaaallll this in only 45 pages. I don’t k ow how I’ll finish this but it’ll try
I lied I give up. She wakes up with a nightmare and he takes care of her because she doesn’t want to be alone. The next more I get he feeds her spanks her for lying to h8m and gets the truth out of her. Not even 24 hours from when all this started he ends up screwing her. Then spanking her again.
Her character is SOOOOO annoying childish and disgusting. It’s not even cute but makes me sick and embarrassed for womankind. He’s old news hot stuff who retired but is besotted with her.
Yeeeaaa nooo I’m done. This book should never have been published. -
Man, this was anticlimactic too. The beginning was cool and suspenseful but the "instalove" kind of ruined it. I would have liked it to be drawn out a little more, or if it was going down that route, have some history between the main characters.
