I AM SO HAPPY HE WAS A SEEING I DOG!

it wasnt that good to read because there they put mument instead of moment.

My 9-year old has been reading these forever, and she still LOVES these books, and now I see why! We read, as a family, one chapter a night until this (very short) story was done, and it was an interesting read for the whole gang. We're going to choose another in the series next!

Charles and his older sister, Lizzie, are in elementary school. They have been bugging their parents to get a dog but their mom is a cat person and has said no. She agrees to let them foster dogs so they can see what it's like having the responsibility of having a dog.

A vet contacts them asks if they would like to foster Shadow, a Labrador retriever puppy, and find a home for him. Charles and Lizzie hope their home will be Shadow's new home. But their parents say no because they are going on vacation in a couple weeks and it's not the right time ... so they have to find a home for Shadow. During show and tell in her class one day, Lizzie gets the inspiration for what would be the best thing for Shadow.

Though this book is a quick read and directed at elementary-aged children, I found it entertaining. There is a learning experience and a puppy tip at the end. It is written in third person perspective and first person from Shadow's point of view. It is the third in the Puppy Place series, which currently has 64 books in the series.

3 Stars, The author wrote a standard puppy tale for sure, which was cute. However, I did not appreciate the 2 references to the siblings sticking their tongues out at each other in disrespect, and especially didn't like the sister Lizzie emailing the blind school and handling all of it herself without first consulting her parents, followed by her mother congratulating her for doing so behind their backs.

My rating is based on the type of book it is, and my dayghter’s enjoyment of it. It isn’t a great work of literature. I’m finding these books to be a bit dull for me. However, my daughter is loving them. Though they are somewhat predictable and generic, each one does have something to make the story a bit different than the other stories. Great for young children who love dogs.

Here comes another just like the other etc
Yep third entry in the puppy place is another puppy dog foster tale, it has its moments but after a while one puppy tale resembles another, they all wag the same way so to speak!

I read The Puppy Place, Where Every Puppy Finds A Home-Shadow. "This is Shadow," said Dr. Gibson. I chose this quote because it is important to know the dog's name. Yes, this quote did make me want to read more.

The main character is Lizzie. She is short. Lizzie loves to help dogs find homes. She acts like a grown-up. The problem in the book is that Lizzie and her family have to find a home for this dog, Shadow, but Lizzie really wants to keep this one.

The steps that have been taken so far is that she cannot keep this dog. She wants him to help a blind person find their way around or to do something nice for someone. Lizzie learned this lesson because she wanted to keep Shadow but she decided to give him to someone who is blind and really needed him.

The author uses short words and sentences. The genre of this book is an adventure. The author is very detailed.

I made a text to self connection. The book reminded me of someone I know who tried to find a home for a dog. I wish that Lizzie and her family could keep Shadow. Why did they want Shadow to help a blind person? I was surprised when Lizzie became friends with her enemy.

ugh. I hate it when they assume a puppy voice. such a cute story that is educational, teaching about guide dogs, but it is ruined by the dog voice.

My first graders think this is the best one yet! (But wait until they hear Buddy... then I'll ask again.)

Reading this years later for a tutoring session, I feel frustrated the Peterson's don't keep this perfect for them puppy. And the Bean's behavior is getting annoying. I'm wondering if he stops acting like a puppy in a few more titles.

Another great Puppy Place book finished with my daughter. we not only enjoy getting to read about the puppies and how the are taken care of, but also shows great examples of kids taking responsibility and standing up for things they believe in and working hard to help these pups.

  • Hannah

this book is about a puppy who was not wanted but Charels and his sister into a guide dog in training!
