Robert Mace has had enough.
After watching some of his closest friends find love and happiness with mail-order brides, the fact that his own advertisement is yet to receive a single reply is frustrating, to say the least.
But then he finds another advertisement, this time from a woman seeking a husband.
Robert just can’t resist his curiosity and so he writes a reply to the listing, eager to know more about this unconventional bride—but is there more to this proposal than it seems?
After the death of her husband destroyed her whole world, Tiffany Downing has abandoned all hope for a happy future for her and her infant son, Lucas.
Distraught with grief and unable to find a way to move on from her loss, Tiffany has no intentions of ever marrying again.
And yet her wily mother-in-law, Linda, apparently has other plans in store for her.
Tiffany is furious to learn that Linda advertised for a husband on her behalf, but when she reads Robert’s reply, she soon finds herself considering the match—even if she knows she will never love again.
As Tiffany, her son, and meddling mother-in-law come to join Robert in his hometown of Birch River, it surprises her to find how well they all seem to fit together.
Almost like a family.
But how will Tiffany ever be able to let Robert in and give their relationship a real chance, when she is still burdened by grief?
The Widow’s Mail Order Husband is a heart-warming story of starting over and letting love in. Will Tiffany learn to let go of the past and give her life with Robert a chance? Or will she let the wrong man slip away?

Second chance for happiness
Such a wonderful clean book. Tiffany's husband has died and her mother in law Linda believes she needs to remarry but can Tiffany do this.
Robert wants a family and wife and is thinking of placing a mail order advertisement. So while looking at the ads to get an idea of what to write he sees an ad for a bride looking for a husband and decides to answer it.
Tiffany travels to Robert after learning what Linda has done. Can they make a home for themselves? Grab the book. -
I never get tired of reading from this series, of which each can be read independently. This one didn’t disappoint. It was refreshing having the plot here a twist and had the woman advertise for a husband. It was believable and heartwarming. There was much tragedy involved around the characters, but with all the love, I felt special watching it unfold. The ending could not have been better! Book gifted to me.

how could this happen
We were happy with our family, my mother-in-law, myself, my son and my husband. My husband was in the barn working with the horses, we were in the house. I saw a man outside, I thought it was strange that he was walking as we did not have close neighbors. Then I heard the gunshot. The man fled up my horse and I ran to out to see my husband. I held him close as he slipped away. Why oh why did this happen and what are we going to do. -

Fantastic story
I enjoyed reading it, even though I admit in the beginning I shed tears. However, by the end of the book the tears were happy ones.
The best thing about the book it was clean. No obscene language or actions. I will certainly continue reading books by Amelia Rose -
Very sweet story
This is the perfect book, for when you don't want to read anything with a lot of graphic stuff in it. I usually read paranormal romance, but occasionally I enjoy a straight forward heartfelt small town story with a couple who somehow make it work, regardless of all the pitfalls along the way -
A beautiful clean story of loss and love.
I really enjoyed reading this story. It is a story filled with all emotions. It has patience and togetherness. It shows even if you thought you would never love again fate has her own ideas. -
Loved this book!
A woman desperately in need of comfort and safety after her husband is murdered, a man desperately wanting a wife and family, both getting what they want and in the process falling in love with each other! I highly recommend this book a very enjoyable read. -
It is a captivating story that makes you want to turn the pages over and over again. However, the characters are rather 2-dimensional with not much emotion and depth put into them. Despite the tragic events that occur, the lack of description and detailed emotions for the characters suffering is not explored much. Pity we don't find out who killed Bobby. I thought it would be someone in plain sight this whole time, but a random shooting sets this story off. I would, however, love to read the story series. They are light, fast pace and easy to read.

Widow mail order husband
Very interesting story to read with a twist. Instead of a bride it was a mail order husband. Nice short story. -
Good mail order bride story. This is a nice addition to the Birch River Brides Book. I liked that the mother-in-law was a key person in the story.

A good read!
I love this period of history and often wonder whether I would have had the courage to be a mail order bride. -
Great afternoon read
A tad too politically correct for me. But, it was a fast, easy read. I guess I will have to start with book one. Definitely recommend.
