A startup story that becomes a quest to decode humanity and the heart of man — co-founder Tim Felz sets out on a road trip to collaborate with farmers and makers across the US and adventures through the richness of America, battling his own demons, with the help of the most unlikely of steeds — a 1980 Volkswagen Vanagon named Patches.

In this true story, meet the people who feed America and the ones who are living its dream. Fall in love with the local farmer and the weary traveler alike — and witness the power of hospitality and a home cooked meal. From sleepless nights at an eclipse festival to ice cold dips in a glacier lake, watch as a man on a mission becomes a man at a crossroads of the heart.

Fleeting, fleeting, fleeting….will Tim ever find the peace he is looking for?

There’s something for everyone in this beautiful story. It’s an incredible road trip tale through America while also a poignant reflection on faith and family. It has the most entertaining characters that we’d always hoped to cross paths with and a protagonist who has the courage to write the things we feel but are afraid to say.

An adventurous read that takes you on a profound ride through every region of the U.S. It’s at times hilarious and dreamlike as well as tragic and soul searching in others. At the heart of it, Tim Felz puts every part of his being onto the page to honestly ask himself, God, and the reader — what are we truly meant for on this earth?

With each passing minute, I see this story in a new light and my mind hasn’t stopped racing since I finished. This book inspired me to do my own soul searching and made me want to pack up a van and start driving across the country. Can’t recommend it enough.

Top Dead Center is a beautiful and raw story of a man’s trip around America. What starts as just that - a road trip - turns into a deep change of heart. I loved everything about Tim’s story. The reader gets to know the author in a way that even those closest to him may not. He is honest and raw and vulnerable and eloquent. Thank you, Tim!

Love Tim and the journey he takes in this book. Sometimes the story telling is a bit elongated and strays into details that made me lose interest, but overall it’s an incredible story of Tim finding himself and taking us on the adventure he went on to do so.
