From the first page I was swept up in Kresten and Ryllis's story. I have missed them, and it was good to be back.
I really enjoyed the colorful world-building, character dynamics, dialog, and the plot.
Wish this book could've been longer. -
The next installment of Ryllis' story was another quick, fun read but I just found there wasn't enough depth in the story and characters. This time round, it's Ryllis' father being investigated for treason which takes us back to her home planet where a new forbidden magic is uncovered. I did enjoy this aspect of the story but wish the author had just explored everything a bit more.
