The Princess and the Pea Reviews

I liked this version. The text is poetry (it rhymes and there's rhythm). It's a good version to read out loud to children. The princess, being a polite, well brought up sort, doesn't mention how badly she slept because of the pea. The queen (who placed it there), is the one who brings it up. I think the ending is funny, though I suppose I could understand if someone else found it a bit unkind (the Queen sleeps soundly on the same pile of mattresses on top of the pea when she visits). For me, because the Queen does not suffer at all from sleeping that way, it just doesn't seem mean at all.

If one feels some strange need to read this particularly vapid fairytale to a kid, this version is as good as any
