Ten months after being cheated on, Aera needed an escape from the obsessive work life she threw herself into post break up.
When she came across a listing to switch homes with a stranger for the holidays, she did what any rational person would do and happily jumped at the chance.
According to her, this was the perfect opportunity for her to break free from her mundane routine and embark on a relaxing, work-free vacation.
Seriously, what could go wrong with a spur-of-the-moment plan like that? Well, you know, besides everything.
Nightmare drive to the cottage? Check.
A house cat with an enthusiastic fornication problem? Unfortunately.
Oh, and a small town where news travels fast? You guessed it.
Although the biggest wrench in her plan was her house swapping partner’s hot brother, Elliot, shows up drunk on her doorstep asking her to have a one-night stand.
All she wanted for Christmas was some peaceful time off, but Comets Valley had other ideas in store for her when an impending blizzard rolled through town, trapping them together with nothing but time on their hands.
Christmas in Comets Valley Reviews

This is a cute holiday novella that reads exactly like The Holiday. Unlike my favourite Christmas movie, I just didn’t see any actual romance or chemistry between the two leads. This was a light, quick read but it was too insta love with no actual relationship development for me.

Aaagh, this was such a cute, swoony Christmas novella, it really cheered me up 😭
It's like a random meet cute, forced proximity at the beginning, fast burn romance between two people who are going through some bad stuff but who are still trying to keep afloat, and I totally loved it ❤️ also the hea was so cute!
If you want a quick wholesome read, I'd def recommend this book!

3.5⭐️
Super cute Christmas novella!! Had some good spicy moments in it as well as all the Christmas vibes! I’m interested to read the next one in this series but sadly it doesn’t come out until next year ;((
i rated it lower because I felt like everything was very very rushed and we saw more of the physical then the emotional connection. I wasn’t totally convinced the two main characters loved each other like they said they did.. it was more lust then anything else.
The concept of this book sounded very interesting and i’d love to find another book with this similar vibe to it! -
I’m not a huge fan of instalove books. However this one worked and won me over. Aera and Elliot make sense. Both experiencing heartbreak and changes in their lives, finding each other in a very hallmark Christmas movie way, and coming together just made my heart happy. I’m a sucker for DUAL POV books and this one didn’t disappoint. This is a novella so things are packed in and rushed, however if you’ve read a novella or 2, you know this, and it shouldn’t surprise you. Overall I really liked this book, 4 starts for the cliff hanger and having to wait till November 2023 to read Merry in Malibu.

cute novella. Loved seeing Aera's romance even though it was so fast

The review isn’t spoiling the story but I do give my overall thoughts which may feel like a bit of spoiling.
This story started of way to slow for somethings that’s so short. Then it proceeded to have an instalovey little bit of toxic obsession with each other. Thinking they were in love with each other when it’s just your bodies biological reaction to having sex with someone. I hoped they would just end it after she was about to leave but no of course we had to have a “happy ending”. I still believe that their relationship started and is built on a toxic infatuation. -
I know it’s a novella, so short and sweet is the aim, but the story felt so rushed. Elliot and Aera had no chemistry, and I felt like there was just no character to either of them.
Super quick and easy read, but also never gave me Christmas vibes so, meh.
Also literally just a copy of The Holiday storyline ??? -
3⭐️ it was ok. The spice was excellent but it kinda felt like wattpad writing and the ending seemed very rushed and predictable. I really enjoyed the characters but I felt like the whole book was very rushed and I found it hard to connect with the characters as well.

4 ⭐️ rounded up to 4 on goodreads!!!
this is legit super similar to the movie the holiday & when I noticed the similarities I was like “okay yes sign ya girl up!” but wow I wasn’t expecting to love it so much.
this book starts off with Aera (ceo of a fashion company in LA) realizing she needs a break & a change, so she decides a vacation may do the trick, she finds a house swap add for a cute cottage in Oregon described as a Christmas Movie Channel must visit, so they decide to swap homes for the holidays. Aera wasn’t expecting tall, dark haired & handsome brother of her home swap friend. what starts as a one night stand quickly blossoms into more than they realize they are ready to part with ..
it definitely is incredibly similar to the movie the holiday, but there are some differences & I loved the entire vibe of this book. it gave me the warm & fuzzies I needed, I only wished that maybe it was a bit longer & I got to know the characters more. -
a big part of the story is literally “ The Holiday” which was unfortunate because I stopped enjoying the story!
also a lil bit more christmassy vibes would’ve been nice! other than that loved the story, it was sweet and spicy but also predictable! -
ik vergat gewoon dat het zo'n kort boek was en begon het boek in schiedam en had het uit in naaldwijk (waar de bus niet goed voor is he ;))
top i love het boek, had veel langer gekund en gemogen en maar de spice is😍 -
I always curious about Aera story, glad this book exist. I laugh when reading this story especially when she bait Elliot with video.
“I was hoping you’d find your way back to me...”

HORRIBLE.
I think she wanted to write a cute short love story and she managed to write one of the worst pieces of literature ever written.
