He knows what I need even when I'm too shy to ask for it. That's why I call him daddy.

Kieran Murphy is an Irish mob boss and one of the most powerful men in Boston, and when he walks me home people step aside out of respect for him. He could have any woman he wants.

So why does he have eyes only for me?

Is it how he has to lift my chin with his fingers to keep my eyes level with his when he scolds me, and how I cover my bottom instinctively when he tells me that I've earned a spanking?

Or is it how I quiver at the thought of everything I'm too ashamed to beg him to do to me, and how hard I come for him when he does all of it and more without me even having to ask?

Maybe it's all of those, but I'm pretty sure there's something else too.

I think he loves how I blush when he makes me call him daddy.

Publisher's Note: Take Me, Daddy includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

This was probably the sweetest and least angsty mafia romance I’ve read and I liked that. It was just what I was wanting. Lemme mention that when I say mafia, it’s very briefly referenced like 3 or so times. The book focuses on the MCs.

There was such an overuse of “Daddy” and “little girl” omg. I love kink as much as the next person, but this was every single line for pages of dialogue between the FMC and MMC. It actively took me out of the steamy scenes, even the heartfelt ones because I was getting frustrated by it. Again, it’s not because of the choice of words, but the frequency. Note: there’s no age play, solely daddy kink.

Other issue: the steamy story itself between the MCs was repetitive. It was FMC makes a mistake, MMC spanks her, belts her as she says sorry, they fuck, rinse and repeat for the whole book. I wish there was something different because it started to feel less special. Outside the steamy scenes, the plot was predictable and a bit cringe but for a low angst novel, it can be just what is needed for some peeps.

I did like Leah and Killian together tho. They deserve those 2⭐️s.

    Not Bad!

This is the story of Leah O’Conner, a single mom to a 3 year old girl (Emma), who moved to Boston to get away from her abusive ex. There, she meets Kierran Murphy, the head of the Irish Mob. Kierran quickly claims Leah as his and the rest of the book is basically just them boning.

When I first started this book, I got some serious Peaky Blinder vibes, but they slowly faded. While I liked the smut, for once, I actually wish there was a bit more to the story. The whole Irish Mob thing, just took a backseat to the whole “Daddy” thing. The smut became a little repetitive. Kierran kept referring to himself in the third person as “Daddy” and Leah kept thinking that everything was so very “shameful”. It got a bit boring and predictable, but it was still good, just not great.

I liked the story and the Daddy aspect. The part that brought down the rating is how her child was treated during the story. The child was important at first but then she was leaving the child alone and going to work. She did have camera and checked with her phone but not a good look. What really surprised me was even when she got involved with the mafia guy he let her continue to leave the child alone while she worked. He would buy her groceries and pay for things but no one found it bad that she left the child alone all night long and the kid was three years old.

The kinky stuff was good and the overall story Lots of spanking.

Received a copy from BookSprout for an honest review.

I'm starting this rating at two stars and I have no idea if I should keep it there or drop it to one. It needed an editor and research.

This is a book about Daddy kink and spanking, which is fine. But if a belt actually leaves welts--multiple welts all over your ass and thighs--you're not sitting on that any time soon. I realize that belt injuries on the fleshy part of an ass cheek are very different than ones across the forehead, but I distinctly remember how long that injury took to heal on me when I was five and made of rubber, so no, Leah is not going to be wanting another spanking the day after she was welted over with a belt.

The first time they have sex, he spanks her with his hand, then with his belt, then they fuck. But later when he punishes her and pulls off his belt, it's completely new. There's no comment at all about it happening before. There was a severe lack of continuity with this book, as if it wasn't read through in its entirety before publishing.

There's no safe word for their Daddy play. Which, okay, fine, it's fiction, it's a book, it totally happens. But Leah loses all capability of having an adult conversation. She throws a tantrum, Kieran bends her over and spanks her, then she agrees that her Daddy wants the best for her. After they start sleeping together, the only adult conversation they have is about her ex-husband. That's it. It's infuriating. Which might be something that happens in the fictional Little world? I'm not sure, it's not my thing.

And the most unrealistic thing is that Leah, a grown woman, leaves her three-year-old daughter alone at home while she works at a bar, watching everything from a baby monitor hooked up to her phone. I get making things work. I get doing what you need to do. But that just amped up the feeling that Leah's daughter, Emma, was just a plot device. As soon as Leah and Kieran get together, Emma is barely in the book because she's off somewhere else while they have sex.

I think this is going to end up a one star. There's just too many inconsistencies and the characters are a little one dimensional.

  • Katherine

I gave 3 stars for this book, and I feel that was me being super generous.

I feel the daddy/little girl was overused in this story.
Also, the amount of spanking just felt more abusive than fun in most of the book.

Not to mention her husband being dishonourably discharged for rape when he should have been in prison.

Her neglecting her daughter and leaving her asleep at night alone while she walked a few blocks to work at the pub wasn't very good either.

This story could have been better, but it was a little cringy at times.

  • Peggy

This story is by a new author. The story centers around Leah and Trevor. Leah has a 3 year old daughter, Emma and is fleeing an abusive ex. She pays cash and is careful so he can’t find her. Kieran is an Irish mob boss. They meet when Leah gets a job at a pub, they had an insta moment. Kieran likes to help her with groceries and wakes her home after her shift. I did not like and was kinda pissed that she left her 3 yr old alone with only a camera watching her while she works.
A 3 year old! How irresponsible can you get? But it’s all gravy apparently, nothing is said u til she has to leave her sift early and Kieran finds out why. Emma, a 3 yr old has the personality of an 8-10 yr old so maybe some fact checking there. The daddy thing, the spankings, the sadistic cruelty of Kieran just made me cringe. I get that some authors want to add some spice and some, not me, think a spanking is sexual, but everything this guy did was cringe worthy so, unfortunately, I did not enjoy it.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

OK I don't often rate books so low. As I normally put them aside but this one...

Lots of people have given it a wonderful rating.
    Here's what I think.

If you like D/s daddy/ little girl books with rape, over the top punishments and a male lead who does just what he wants, is very OTT and lets the below happen, then this is for you, I don't think it was a dd/lg book.

If you like rape of wives. partners, are ok with it as a war crime, being treated lightly and dismissed, or not properly dealt with, then this is the books for you.

If you are ok with a 3 year old child ( who speaks like a 13 year old) being left alone, at night for hours and hours in a dodgy neighbourhood then this book is for you.

If you like the female main character who is ok with all the above and is really weak and stupid then this is your book.

BUT it is not for ME.

Sara Fields’ Take Me Daddy is a sweet mobster daddy story and it’s all the naughty with the right amount of sweetness. Kieran is downright delicious in all the right ways—Seriously! Leah is a sweetheart. Together, they make quite the couple. Add in little Emma and you have a darling, feel-good story with a Sara Fields twist. And well, I’m all for the twist.

  • Kiley

There was so much wrong with this book, I can't believe it got so many five-star ratings. I also don't even know where to begin pointing out the bad spots. Well, actually, I do. First is that the military supposedly allowed the FMC's husband to just be dishonorably discharged for a vicious assault and rape of a civilian woman while he had been deployed overseas. He was not sent to prison...just dishonorably discharged. NOT right...but was there more to the story than wasn't being told?
Another thing that bothered me was that after taking her three-year-old daughter and fleeing from her abusive husband, the FMC (I can't say "heroine" because I didn't consider her to be one), took two jobs (having two jobs wasn't the issue). The first was as a housekeeper/maid for a local cleaning company; a position that allowed her to take her daughter along. The second (this is what bothered me the most. Again, NOT the job, but, well you'll see) was at a local Irish tavern where she could NOT take her daughter. Rather than finding someone to watch the child, (THIS was the issue!) she left the 3-year-old home alone and took a baby monitor to work with her?! Seriously?! She worked the night shift which caused her to leave the child alone into the wee hours of the morning. And the author thought this was a good thing to write about?! Even after the MMC (the mafia boss) came into the picture, that didn't change. No one was hired to watch the baby, no one was dispatched to take care of her while mom worked at the tavern. She was left alone...FOR HOURS...while mom worked each night, only stopping every now and then to check the monitor. NO. Just...NO!!
A third thing that REALLY bothered me almost as much as her leaving the baby alone most nights was the fact that the MMC whipped the FMC after he learned she didn't tell him about being assaulted by her estranged husband. Now, I understand a lot of people have no problem with spanking and, if that's all it had been, it wouldn't have been a problem. However, she had just been assaulted the night before by her husband. The following morning the MMC beat her A$$ and the backs of her thighs more than 10 times, at first with his hands, with each hit being harder and stronger than the first. Then, as if that was not enough, he chose to use a belt on her for putting herself in danger by not telling him the truth about having seen her husband two nights before. And he belted her harder and harder...again more than 10 times, enough to bring her to tears and shouting in pain, and by the time he finally stopped, she started to believe she deserved the punishment. And when the beating stopped? Well, he held her for a bit, until she stopped crying...then had sex with her while her A$$ and thighs still throbbed with the pain from the beating. Yes, I considered it a BEATING. All this took place the morning after she had been assaulted, both physically and sexually (though she stopped it before it got too far) the night before. NO. Just. NO. Oh, but she believed it was okay because "I ached for him"...was her belief of his actions. There were NO safe words given or uttered, no verbal or written contracts signed, nothing allowing for limits, soft or hard, to be assigned or agreed to. He would just say she needed to be punished and took it from there, setting his OWN limits, of which there truly weren't any. But that wasn't the end of it. After they both "finished", he told her he wasn't done with her, and that up to that point he had been gentle during sex. So the next "session" was brutal and painful and, according to the words of the FMC, "This wasn’t a gentle f*cking. This was a f*cking that was meant to drive home the lesson he’d started with his belt"...meaning he was still focused on punishing her, but this time with brutal sex. So, basically, the second "session" was a brutal rape, even though the FMC got pleasure from it, no matter how much pain she had to endure to achieve that pleasure. Even though she begged him to stop when she said she couldn't take any more, how did he respond? "Daddy isn’t through with you yet, little girl. He’s enjoying this sweet p*&&y. He knows it hurts, but bad little girls need to be punished, don’t they?". When that session was over? He started up a third time, even though he knew she was more than likely already raw because, according to him, "This was the finale to her punishment where she learned once and for all that she belonged to me completely". Oh, but this was the moment he decided she was THE ONE...the one he'd marry, make the mother of his children...because, well, think about it...what other woman would be stupid enough to let him brutalize her like that and consider it something she deserved and then want to marry him and give him babies?! And STILL, the FMC said she NEEDED to be spanked? She NEEDED to have that belt beat her? She NEEDED the rape?! She "needed to come hard enough for Daddy that I shattered"?! He broke her, intentionally. And THIS is what the author considers "romance"?! What will this teach the DAUGHTER as she grows up?! Is it supposed to teach her that it's acceptable to be brutalized?? And another thing...throughout all of this...where was the 3-year-old daughter? Neither one of them spared a moment to consider HER.
Near the end of the book, the MMC introduced a paddle to the FMC by saying, "Daddy’s hand hurts, doesn’t it, little girl?...Daddy’s paddle is going to hurt more"... "He leaned over me and curled his hand around my throat, forcing me to look at the terrifyingly wicked thing. It was dark wood stained a beautiful cherry red. It was no larger than a hairbrush and quite thin, which made me even more nervous". What made this "spanking" worse was that she had just been introduced to a plug for the first time...and not in a good way. Once again, there was no safe word given or used...and no matter how much she begged, the beating of her backside and thighs continued until HE decided she'd had enough, while the plug was still inserted. No matter how many times she said enough, or NO, the MMC always said HE knew what was best.
I guess this book really bothered me because of all the decisions the MMC literally forced on the FMC. I mean, towards the end of the last chapter, the FMC admitted that even though she was nervous about anal sex, not knowing whether to look forward to it or to be afraid of it, she "realized it didn’t matter. It was going to happen either way.". Although the MMC told her the anal sex wasn't "a punishment...This is claiming...", he also informed her, "That doesn’t mean Daddy is going to be gentle with his little girl...". He brutally removed the plug, not caring whether or not he caused her any damage. Seriously?! He told her repeatedly he would not be gentle and he wasn't.
There were so many emotions in this book and none of them were truly good ones. There wasn't any real love between them. He was obsessed with the FMC, and she...well IMHO, she had Stockholm's Syndrome by the time the story ended. It just made my stomach turn so many times. I kept waiting for it to get good, for him to regret some of the pain he forced on her, but it never happened. He truly believed he knew what was best for her and her body, forcing her to endure such agony time after time. I just don't have it in me to give this even a one-star rating. It just wasn't worthy, because THAT was not a romance novel. It was violence forced on an already traumatized, violated woman.

I love a good Irish ☘️ story and Sara Fields has written a very good story with lots of tension, a little bit of drama, and a whole lot of passionate moments with some Daddy kink in the mix.
Kieran is the kingpin of southwest in Boston and he leads with a firm hand. Leah is a single mom on the run from an abusive marriage, she is struggling to make ends meet working two jobs.
This couple engages in a beautiful relationship that meets each other’s needs and fulfills their wants and desires.
Great story with lots of fun moments ❤️

Leah is on the run with her daughter since her husband turned out to be violent. She meets Kieran in a bar. Kieran is the boss of the Irish mob. The two are instantly attracted to each other and end up playing kinky games. A hot story full of BDSM elements.

    Wonderful Mafia Romance

The H is Irish Mafia and he is her Daddy. Lots of smut, with some action and the h has a very sweet daughter you are sure to love with a nice HEA

  • Karen Nastasio

This book is hot hot and I loved every pages I turned some might think it’s a bit rough but this how the author writes and if you aren’t into Daddy Dom / submissive relationship then give it a miss but if you are into it then you’ll be taken on a ride that you don’t want to get off. Leah O’ Conner has just left her now ex husband Trevor with there 3 yr old daughter and moved to South Boston and gets a job at a bar and to stay under the radar she uses cash and her new employer pays her cash as well and then she meets Kieran Murphy at work and the instant chemistry spark’s between them but can she trust this man around her daughter Emma and herself. Kieran Murphy is the Irish mob boss and was a one of his bars when he meets the new woman working at the Bar and he is drawn to her as a Daddy would be and he must protect his new Little but she asks him why he wants her when he can have anybody and he tells her he wants her and nobody else and when he touches her she comes alive and when he punishes her she is shocked that it’s exactly what she needs but is too scared to ask for more. What happens when her Ex finds her and is intending to make her pay but Kieran will never let anyone ever lay a hand on what belongs to him. Great book 🔥🔥.

    Not what I expected…

This came highly recommended in a FB group I’m in, and I was so disappointed! I don’t love to leave negative reviews but this book gave me the ick in a way I think others should be wary of.

This book started off great - same vibes as Little Dove by Layla Frost, which is one of my faves. I love a D@ddy D0m, sp@nking, and TPE romance but this didn’t do it for me. The relationship wasn’t as developed as I prefer, nor was the plot. Consent discussions were non-existent, which is bad even for a short and dirty read like this. Honestly, the last 30% of the book felt like it was written by a bot or a man (and I’m not sure which is worse). I counted more than 5 “br3asts heavy with desire” and “needy nub”s … iykyk. The last 10% of the e-book was ads for other content by this author (who doesn’t have a bio) which all felt very similar. Maybe I’ve watched too many movies or read too much NYT lately, but are kindle content farms finally here?

TL;DR not my favorite, there are higher quality/better thought out reads in this subgenre

    Irish Daddy-yes please

This is a great book that will leave you wanting more! Kieran Murphy is the head of the Irish Mafia in Boston. He loves his family and his men are loyal and dedicated. His entire world changes when he meets Leah. She is hiding from something but she is strong, beautiful, and a great mother to Emma but Kieran wants to protect her but she has to let him so he can do that. The tension between them is off the charts and when they do all give in and Leah submits to being his little girl the spice is top notch. Leah loves being Kieran's girl and calling him Daddy only makes it better. You'll love their story and the spice is just right. Happy Reading!!

  • Honey Roselea Reads

2.5 stars rounded to 3 because at least Emma was somewhat cute even though she annoyed me too. Sure, I am all for daddy kinks but you can't just call him daddy the whole time. That was too much for me. Like say his name at some point, holy shit. And the little girl? Oof during the scenes I just felt like I was reading some weird shit. Like. Please. Use your names, jeez.

  • jordan reid

Cool Scenes. I didn’t enjoy the play being 24/7 though. Like I expected more plot with the situations that’s the character were put in. The age-play also seemed a little too much at times. But it just wasn’t my preference. They used pet names too much and the book got pretty routine after a while. There was no change in events and not much interesting happenings in the plot.

Radiates the energy of when you take a cake out of the oven and stick your finger in it to check if it’s done, only to find it raw and severely underbaked, and your finger covered in cake batter

  • Ashley Carr, LSoR

Leah takes her young daughter and runs when her ex-husband turned violent. She meets Kieran working at a bar. Kieran is one of the most powerful men in Boston and runs the Irish mob. From the first moment their eyes connect he knows he has to make Leah his. This is a kinky and steamy book that will set the pages on fire!! I can’t wait for this author’s next one.

  • Tammy

Leah leaves her abusive husband and moves to south Boston. There she works hard to take care of her and her daughter. She meets Kieran and sparks fly, what will happen when Leah discovers who he really is and how he wants to protect her and her daughter? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, and intense chemistry. Sizzling daddy/little read with plenty of heat and an entertaining story. I liked it.

  • Laura Gardner

Very nearly didn't finish this. 3 year old left alone whilst her mum worked nights. Mafia asshole who did what he wanted and didn't care about aftercare obviously. Fmc started to think she deserved a beating for keeping secrets. If I could rate lower I would

  • Lola

Ok what the actual hell is going on in this book? It starts with us finding out that The fmc’s husband is dishonorably discharged from the army for raping a woman (it was so bad he had to be pulled off of her) and so naturally the fmc waits for him to come home while her THREE YEAR OLD CHILD is there and waits for an explanation because “it could just be PTSD”???? Why would you allow your rapist physically abusive husband to explain himself while your child is home?? And then a couple pages later we find out after she’s left him, she leaves her sick THREE YEAR OLD CHILD at home alone at night, to go work at a bar because she can’t afford a babysitter but hold on it’s ok because she has a camera monitor on her phone to watch her kid from the bar??? Listen I am no mother of the year but I can’t handle this nonsense. Also, she has sex with the H without telling him she’s still married (to an abusive asshole but still like you couldn’t just mention it?) And one more thing!!! Why tf was H (a mafia head who everyone is supposedly afraid of) always singing in like every chapter so far?? He’s literally singing Disney songs yall 🤣 I am veryyyy happily DNFing.

    So.....

First off just to warn people, the last 12% of this book on Kindle is promos for other books. The book ends at 88%.

And look, I'm not looking for realism. But her ex husband was for some reason on a mission near Kuwait city (which it seems the author thinks is in Iraq?) Decided to violently rape a civilian, and then when his female Captain finds him in the act he just starts to violently rapes her as well (and his squadron was there but couldn't stop him for some reason?) and then somehow that causes his mission to go badly and everyone else is killed before exfil, and so for his blatant and startlingly out in the open violent crimes the military....

    Dishonourably discharged him.
    That's it.
    He is just.... Sent home.
    Okay....

He is a characature of an abuser, not one positive quality, stumbling drunk at every turn, openly abusive to his wife.

“Lazy bitch. Where’s my dinner?” (his first words walking in the door from Kuwait City, Iraq somehow already sloppy drunk).

So she drugs him and leaves, goes to Chicago, gets two jobs and instead of hiring a sitter for the one night job (like say, the landlady that clearly loves the kid and lives right there), she just leaves the 3 year old at home alone while she works 2 blocks away all night.

She does this even after her ex husband shows he knows where she lives.

    What is happening?

The writing changes tenses a lot. Its first person present until its first person past. And the first person isn't the best choice because the wording isn't how people think of themselves.

"The fragments landed on top of my hair. Time seemed to slow as the shards bounced off my shoulders and clinked down to the floor. Some of them landed on top of her hair and for the first time in my life, I was thankful for the thick mop of reddish blonde curls."

What? Kind of a sneaky dig at your daughter's hair but okay.

"Bravely, I stood back up, staring down at the pieces of sharp glass below my feet."

"She’d seen me fully naked, and she hadn’t looked away. Her gaze had feasted along the hard ridges of my chest, all the way down to my cock."

This is not how people think about themselves.

I mean, it has her after meeting him once to decide to barge in his room just to see him naked on purpose. Which is icky.

There's two long fantasy scenes while both characters jerk off separately, and then a LOT of sexy scenes. All spanking/whipping/paddling, then 100 orgasms, then punishing sex.

Is it SSC BDSM? Of course not. But whatever it's fantasy. That part doesn't bother me it's not pretending to be a realistic look at lifestyle dynamics.

The Hero is a singer which is kind of neat and unique. But they are always singing sea shantys in his Irish pub. Like every night. It's like an Irish Pub Musical. All together patrons and staff. Why sea shantys? So so many Irish drinking songs...

“I am the kingpin to one of the most powerful Irish mafia families in the States,” I growled...

"If you weren’t Emma’s father, I would have killed you and had my soldiers dispose of your body down by the docks. The police won’t look for your body because I would pay them not to and you would disappear from the face of this Earth without questions asked."

That seems like an odd thing to announce but cool.

Anyways this is a domestic discipline DD/lg book with no age play and no SSC.

Lots of that type of sex scene if that's your jam.

  • Sarah

Author obviously did not research military penalties. Her husband would not have just been dishonorably discharged he would have been courtmartialed or at the very least be tried in civilian court. Totally unbelievable from the beginning. Then she is dumb enough to wait for him to come home to tell him she is leaving but she knows he is abusive why would she wait for him and put herself and her daughter in danger. Then the last straw is how easily she falls for new guy and how she is practically panting after him after first time meeting him

  • Lou

    DNF'D AT 60%

The beginning story up until the whole "DADDY" thing was OK, not great but still OK but as soon as the D word was used in almost every other sentence with the two main characters I just couldn't. I cringe very easily but this book is on a whole other level. I had a full-body cringe at almost everything. The overdoing the whole Irish thing. The names just made me think of Peaky Blinders but a knock-off version and the singing...just NO.

I just couldn't finish this. I wanted to like it but couldn't.

Loved this book. Kieran Murphy is an Irish mob boss and one of the most powerful men in Boston, and when he walks me home people step aside out of respect for him.
