Si toutes ces excuses ne suffisent pas, je veux bien dédier ce livre à l'enfant qu'a été autrefois cette grande personne. Toutes les grandes personnes ont d'abord été des enfants. (Mais peu d'entre elles s'en souviennent.)
-Un jour, j'ai vu le soleil se coucher quarante-trois fois!
Et un peu plus tard tu ajoutais:
-Tu sais...quand on est tellement triste on aime les couchers de soleil...
-Le jour des quarante-trois fois tu étais donc tellement triste? Mais le petit prince ne répondit pas.
-Où sont les hommes? reprit enfin le petit prince. On est un peu seul dans le désert...
-On est seul aussi chez les hommes, dit le serpent.
Et les roses étaient gênées.
-Vous êtes belles mais vous êtes vides, leur dit-il encore. On ne peut pas mourir pour vous
-Adieu, dit le renard. Voici mon secret. Il est très simple : on ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.
-C'est le temps que tu a perdu pour ta rose qui fait ta rose si importante.
Tu deviens responsable pour toujours de ce que tu as apprivoisé. -
It is honestly difficult for me to rate this one fairly as I've read this French version for practice not for leisure (French is not a language I'm fluent in)
So while I've understood most of the plot, there are still a number of voids which I'd like to fill by re-reading it in English before writing my review about it 🙌🏼 -
Voilà, le premier livre dont j'ai lu en français.
Ça fait presque deux ou trois ans que je commençais lire cette œuvre mais chaque fois j'ai échoué.
Même j'ai lu sa traduction (en arabe) il y a longtemps, je ne rappelle rien du tout.
J'aime bien les dialogues entre les personnages et la narration aussitôt.
Il y a des choses dont je ne comprends pas. Par exemple: L'astronome turc, est-elle une vraie personne? C'est qui "les grandes personnes"? Y a-t-il une philosophie dans le roman? ...etc.
Je n'aime pas quand même la répétition des phrases dans des dialogues.
"Moi je me taisais" "Je ne te quitterai pas"...etc.
En général, je prenais du bon temps en lisant ce roman et il m'amusait bien.

One of my favorite books - very nice 'count-to-ten' book for small children.

This is my favorite book that has taught me what love really means.
It was a gift from my co-worker in the military: I read this French book for the first time when I was actually in Sahara Desert, and since then I've been wondering if young kids could really understand the message.
The followings are my favorite lines from the book with English translations in parentheses:
Scene 18>
(M1: Narrator) Le petit prince traversa le desert et ne rencontra qu'une fleur. Une fleur a trois petales, une fleur de rien du tout... (The Little Prince saw only one flower in the desert. It was a flower with three petals – a flower of no importance...)
(W1) "Ou sont les hommes?" (“Where are the people?”)
(M1: Narrator) demanda poliment le petit prince. La fleur, un jour, avait vu passer une caravane. (the Little Prince politely asked the flower. The flower had only once seen a caravan go past.)

Le Petit Prince
Sebuah dongeng untuk dewasa yang diceritakan dari kacamata seorang anak kecil yang melihat dunia.
Diawali dengan kisah masa kecil si penulis yang sedang senang-senangnya menggambar, namun orang dewasa di sekitarnya selalu membutuhkan penjelasan, supaya mereka dapat mengerti. Menurutnya orang dewasa sebenarnya tidak pernah mengerti apa-apa sendiri, hal ini tentu saja menjemukan bagi anak-anak, karena orang dewasa perlu dijelaskan terus-menerus. Dan sering kali orang dewasa membuat patah semangat anak kecil dalam mengerjakan/mengusahakan sesuatu.
Ketika dewasa, dituturkan dirinya yang terdampar di padang pasir bertemu pertama kalinya dengan Pangeran Cilik. Cerita Pangeran Cilik mengenai planet kecilnya, kesukaannya melihat matahari terbenam, bunga mawar yang kini tinggal di planetnya, dan bagaimana dirinya harus waspada dari serangan bertumbuhnya pohon baobab.
Bagi Pangeran Cilik, orang dewasa itu selalu menilai seseorang dari apa yang tampak dari penampilan luarnya saja. Menyukai angka-angka, karena hanya demikianlah mereka mengira dapat mengenal dirinya sendiri. Dan orang dewasa memang sangat ganjil; ingin perintahnya selalu dipatuhi, ingin selalu mendengar pujian semata, melakukan hal bodoh untuk melupakan rasa malunya. Terkadang juga orang-orang dewasa benar-benar sangat luar biasa.
Semua pandangan Pangeran Cilik terhadap orang dewasa yang ditemuinya ketika berjelajah sangatlah unik, kebanyakan memang mencirikan bagaimana kehidupan orang dewasa sebenarnya (dalam kehidupan nyata), mungkin aku juga termasuk ke dalam ciri orang dewasa yang digambarkan oleh Pangeran Cilik.
Satu kalimat bermakna mendalam dari Pangeran Cilik yang menjadi favoritku adalah "Mata itu buta. Harus melihat (sesuatu) dengan hati."

Jika dilihat sekilas, novel ini memang seolah ditujukan untuk anak-anak. Apalagi, di dalamnya penuh dengan ilustrasi gambar. Padahal jika dicerna dengan baik, novel ini menyasar pembaca dewasa.
Menurut tokoh aku, karakterisitik yang diceritakan oleh pangeran kecil dimiliki oleh hampir semua orang dewasa di dunia ini. Hal tersebut ada benarnya, bahkan masih relevan untuk saat sekarang.
Ada yang berambisi menjadi raja walau tak ada yang mengakui, ada yang narsis luar biasa, ada yang terjebak dalam lingkaran setan, ada yang sangat matre, ada yang hanya menjadi robot dengan mematuhi perintah, dan lain sebagainya.
Bentuk kritikan implisit yang ada di novel ini patut dijadikan bahan renungan untuk kita yang sudah dewasa. Buku ini seolah menjadi oase ketika kita menghadapi rutinitas yang membosankan.
Karena terjebak oleh realita dan tuntutan hidup di dunia modern, kita banyak melupakan hal penting lainnya. Kita hanya mengejar materi seolah itulah yang paling penting di dunia ini.
Ketika berada di Bumi, pangeran kecil bertemu dengan seekor rubah. Rubah tersebut berkata kepada sang pangeran:
Hal-hal penting hanya dapat dilihat dengan hati, bukan mata.
Buku ini penulis rekomendasikan untuk semua kalangan, baik anak-anak maupun orang dewasa. Gaya bahasanya yang renyah menjadi daya tarik tersendiri.
Kekurangan buku ini mungkin adalah tingkat ketipisan novelnya sehingga kurang memuaskan. Selain itu, akhir dari novel ini juga diserahkan kepada pembaca.

Reading this book is like a ticket back to childhood.
I find myself in the little prince who is keen on asking questions. But that curiosity has long gone after years focusing on subjects at school. Looking back all years so far, I feel so sad for me and for others who can not nurture our adventure spirit and dare not to learn new things.
Also, each planet the prince stopped by was a true image of a person in today world. There is a lonely king governing his tiny kingdom. There is a businessman busy counting the stars as if they are his property. There is a sober man feeling ashamed for drinking too much. And there is many more people I can easily find in daily life. Generally, they seem not to know clearly what to do with their lives. And I am in the same shoe. I set up goals and chase for them, but once they are achieved, I find no meaning at all. I guess it is a contradictory side that all of us will have.
I really recommend this book for not only children but also adults because this book surely makes you feel relieved and slow down your life a little bit. -
Beberapa saat setelah membaca buku ini, saya merenung dan tiba-tiba menangis. Saya merindukan the little prince atau mungkin saya sedang merindukan masa kecil saya. Masa di mana saya bisa berpikir dengan sederhana dan mensyukuri hal-hal yang sederhana. Atau mungkin saya menangis karena takut. Takut menjadi orang dewasa yang bekerja keras tanpa tahu apa tujuan dan keinginannya. Takut menjadi orang dewasa yang hanya memandang nominal bukannya makna. Semoga saya bukan orang dewasa yang seperti itu.

This book teaches me quite many things about this life. The cute prince made me think of what I am living for ?? which is my own rose ?? This world is very and very complicated . People have a lot of ways to live ...Some just only know for themselves , some are too "hợm hĩnh" :3 and some live for others ,..We can choose which one is the best for us .....
To be honestly , I read it a long time ago and I think i should read it again >< -
Cốt truyện đơn giản thôi. Lời văn đơn giản thôi. Mọi thứ đều rất giản đơn như vậy. Một cậu bé, đến từ một hành tinh bé, với các trăn trở về những điều mà đối với người lớn chúng ta, đó toàn là những chuyện vặt vãnh và nhỏ bé. Nhưng quả thật, thế giới thật ra rất đơn giản, chỉ là con người làm thế giới trở nên phức tạp và cứng nhắc mà thôi. Thật ra đôi mắt chẳng nhìn được gì hết, những điều quan trọng thì chỉ có thể nhìn bằng trái tim.

Je fais lire ce livre à deux de mes étudiants anglophones qui apprennent le français, l'un a 9 ans et l'autre a plus de 50 ans, et avec chacun je le vois d'un côté différent, toujours profond, et tous deux l'aiment beaucoup!
À celles qui ont aimé ce livre philosophique sur la vie, l'amour, l'amitié, je recommande la relecture et aussi de voir LE FILM, sorti tout récemment (2016?), disponible sur Netflix. Un chef d'oeuvre! -
At first, I didn’t take this book seriously. Page after another I started to relate the kinds of grownups that the little prince has met in his journey to my short experience in life. It’s amazing how the writer put serious adult issues in a book written and illustrated as a children book ; yet dedicated to grownups.
P.S the story of the fox was heart touching... -
I've enjoyed reading
The Little Prince over the years and when I saw this book, I wondered how it might appeal to its intended audience. I'm not sure if younger children and toddlers will appreciate it as much as I did, but I liked it. -
The majority of the reviews here have confused this book with the actual story The Little Prince. This counts to 5 using elements of that story. It’s a nice primer, but it seems too short compared to most other counting primers that at least go to 10.

I love The Little Prince, so I was delighted to find this board book based on the classic. Counting to five, each page focuses on things from the book, such as two red flowers and four strong birds. Elliot wasn't really interested in this one at 12 months. Will try again when he’s a bit older.

Leí este libro durante mi estancia unos meses en Paris para empezar a familiarizarme con el idioma. No sabría decir si me ayudó o no, el hecho es que en un mes ya podía mantener una conversación. El libro en sí... no me acuerdo... por muy mito que sea.
