Three bridesmaids, three different erotic stories, all taking place in New Orleans. Each bridesmaid makes a wish by tossing a coin in an infamous, magical fountain--the Jaillissement De Plaisir...The Fountain Of Pleasure--making all her erotic wishes come true.
In Binding Her Heart by Nikita Black, Tessa's a landscape architect attending her friend Laura's bachelorette party in New Orleans. The party's being held in a private sex club owned by sexy Cajun Treves "Shay" Duchesne. Shay's a notorious player--women don't last more than a day or two with him. When Laura encourages Tessa to let her hair down and go for what she wants sexually ("Every woman fantasizes about being a whore at one time or another") Tessa decides to 'go for it' when sexy Shay propositions her.
Shay recognizes Tessa as the girl who's haunted his dreams for the past 12 years (they had an encounter at the Fountain of Pleasure--which happens to be right outside the club's courtyard-- when they were teens).
Tessa's wish is to be dominated, and Shay is certainly up to the task. There's exhibitionism (they have sex in the courtyard and on the balcony) and voyeurism in this one, and plenty of dirty talk using some Cajun French phrases. The book was steamy, there was some character development, but I didn't quite believe the ILYs after only a couple of days together. But for the hotness and entertainment value--4 stars.
Mortal Sensations by Allyson James may have been my favorite of the three stories. Thomas Dupree is a Cajun businessman from the wrong side of the tracks with a mysterious, dangerous "courier" business. While in high school 9 years ago he had one disatrous date with young heiress Madison Rainey (where he clumsily took her virginity in his truck). Nothing developed beyond that date. Now Madison and Thomas are both members of the bridal party in his older brother Leon's (
Mortal Seductions) wedding. They see each other and realize the spark is still there. Thomas has always been the star of Maddie's erotic fantasies...
Madison may be an heiress, but she's an heiress in financial trouble. Even though she has a successful business designing outlandish yet fashionable hats, she has a lot of family debts. One asset she has and would like to keep is the house her grandmother left to her.
Keith Girard is after Madison--he wants to marry her so he can get his hands on the house that her grandma left to her--rumor is that there's some hidden treasure inside the house. He'll do whatever it takes to get his way...
Madison makes a wish at the fountain in the courtyard--"I wish for one night of over-the-top sexual ecstasy that reminds me why I love being a woman. With the hot-bodied Thomas Dupree. And no talk about my house."
Thomas has wanted Maddie for the past nine years. He's eager to make up for that date and show her all the things he's now learned about pleasuring a woman (he belongs to a sex club and is a dom).
Maddie and Thomas get a little help from the demigod Alexi, who's in exile among mortals. Alexi helps them to overcome their fears--Maddie fears that no man could love her for herself; Thomas fears he's not good enough for Maddie--by locking them (including himself) in Maddie's house for the weekend until they work it all out. They 'work it out' by participating in a pretty hot ménage which makes Maddie and Thomas realize that they only want each other--thanks for everything Alexi. But will they take the next step, or do they need Alexi's help for that too?
This one was plenty hot, and it was a bit more believable since Maddie and Thomas had a previous relationship. I thought it was pretty well developed for a short story and I enjoyed the slightly paranormal aspect of the character of Alexi. 4 1/2 stars
The third story, Dungeon Dreams by Sheri Whitefeather, was just okay for me. Because of the length (75 pages) it was the least developed of the three, and it didn't help that the subject matter (a B&B owner has a secret hidden sexual dungeon in his old Victorian, where he and the heroine make her erotic fantasies come true) didn't really appeal to me. A little too heavy on the BDSM elements and sex toys (thankfully no whipping or pain though) and I just couldn't connect with the hero or heroine--I really didn't believe they were in love, either. 3 stars
Not the best anthology I've ever read, but not the worst either. If you've got a few hours to kill and you're not looking for anything too deep or meaningful, and you just want a bit of mind candy, this will certainly do the trick. 4 stars -
Three nice stories. Wish I had one if those fountains. -
I picked up this books specifically because of Nikita Black. I was happy to see Allyson James since I like her book too. This is a fun and light read. The kink was smexy and sugary sweet. The tie in theme was a wishing fountain, Jaillissement de Plaisir. I did like the theme ~ Tout quoi vous voulez.
Ms. Black's story was hot. I think maybe because it was a short story that the resolution came as a shock to me. From stranger to I love you is a bit more than I can swallow. However, the story line was involving magic so I guess that is why it happened.
Ms. James's menage story's sex was lukewarm for me. I want more hotter menage. I'm jaded with the m/m/f component. Still, the story was written in a smooth manner which I enjoyed. I'm a fan of Ms. James so I tend to be a bit more forgiving.
Ms. Whitefeather's story was a WTF for me. The plot and dreams just didn't do it for me. However, the dungeon which was in a hidden room in the attic DID do it for me. I liked all the equipment. Tasty.
I recommend this to erotic readers who like a kick to their erotica and loves tidy happily MARRIED after. -
Sultry days, sinful nights and a magic fountain… What
more could a nice-turned-naughty bridesmaid wish for…?
For Tessa Kittredge, standing up at her good friend’s New Orleans society wedding is the last thing she wants to do. Love? She long ago stopped believing in that myth. But a very special bachelorette party, a golden mask, and a carelessly tossed coin all bespell Tessa into fulfilling her deepest fantasies… with a dark and powerfully sensual stranger.
Treves “Shay” Ducheyne is a Louisiana aristocrat with a problem. None of the prissy women in his social circle like the kind of sex he enjoys most—edgy, gritty and controlling. But when he secretly watches a beautiful innocent cast a coin into the cursed Jaillissement de Plaisir fountain, his predatory instincts awaken. She has no idea she’s playing with fire—New Orleans style.
But as easily as Shay commands Tessa’s body, it is a far more difficult task to win her trust…and her heart. It will take all his considerable prowess…and a much stronger force than rope…to tie her to him forever…
The bond of love. -
Multi-author themed anthology. The stories are loosely tied together by the setting [New Orleans] and a fountain known as the Fountain of Pleasure which is purported to 'grant everything you wish'. I actually bought this for the Allyson James story - over and above she's on my 'must have' list - this story is linked to her demigod series. The hero of this story is the brother of the hero in Mortal Seductions. Good read. To the best of my knowledge, the others are standalones. The Nikita Black story explores the 'anonymous sex with a stranger' fantasy, the Allyson James story contains some menage sex scenes, and the Sheri Whitefeather story explores BDSM - although they all have a touch of 'tie 'em up' dominance.
Good read once - but they could probably make a mint if they provided directions to the fountain...

2. Mortal Seductions (2009)
3. Mortal Sensations (2010) (in Wedding Favors) -
I received a print copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
An erotic anthology from three of the best in the business. Let me start off by saying that for some of us we all know that being a brides maid can occasionally suck (for some) in epic proportions. You get stuck with the ugly dress, the embarrassing photo bomb ops, cat fights and gossip, the bouquet toss and alcohol and all the while wonder who's left in the wedding that hasn't gotten hitched yet hoping that the man of your dreams might come strolling in to save you while the men are placing bets as to which guy can get under who's dress faster? Its a scene out of every bad chick flick movie there is, but it does happen once in awhile.
So for those rare ladies out there that sit at the reception table day dreaming about mister delicious sweeping you off your feet for some seriously hot romping between the sheets, this is the book for you. -

Coauthor
From the coauthor: "What do bridesmaids wish for? When it comes to weddings, why should the bride and groom be the only ones tying knots? In these consummate erotic novellas set in steamy New Orleans, three nice-turned-naughty bridesmaids each make a wish by tossing a coin into an infamous fountain. Before the night is through, these bridesmaids find themselves entangled with passionate partners, who show them the only way to free their desires is through the most enticing restraints. Nikita Black (aka New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Nina Bruhns) goes behind the closed doors of a bordello and a masked bachelorette party where anything can-and does-happen." -
A rather fun act-out-your-sexual-fantasies anthology. The first two, Binding Her Heart and Mortal Sensations were worthy reads. However, the third, Dungeon Dreams, was weak at best. I liked the magical, old Orleans element behind each story, and the sex-dreams-come-true water fountain idea. A decent read if you just skip the last short story. 3.5 stars.

BINDING HER HEART by Nikita Black
MORTAL SENSATIONS by Allyson James
DUNGEON DREAMS by Sheri Whitefeather
My favorite was Binding Her Heart by Nikita Black. This anthology gave me a new author to look up. -
Allyson's story: "Mortal Sensations" (Loosely connected to the Mortals series. Hero is Thomas Dupree, brother of Leon Dupree of Mortal Seductions.)

Erotic anthology of stories about bridesmaids. Just... no.
