Death by Medicine Reviews

There are a lot of statistics to wade through, which can be mind-numbing; however, there are facts in this book that will alarm and educate. I think the book should be required reading for incoming medical students and, indeed, healthcare professionals of any kind.

Gary Null has an ax to grind – he believes that naturopathic, preventative medicine should comprise a larger portion of medical treatment, but this book isn’t about what Null wants, it’s about the flaws in the US medical system: study after study showing that shocking numbers of people are killed by drug reactions, unproven procedures, infection, unnecessary operations, etc., and few of these causes of death are recorded. Patients beware!

I first heard about this book in one of the talks by Dr. B M Hegde. A very precise book with facts and figures. Most of what is said in this book is covered in his talks. A must read.

Very courageous of the four MDs who wrote this book. Even though it was written in 2010, the information is still relevant today. We should always question doctors when prescribing us medication. ALL medications have a level of toxicity to our bodies, some more than others, but still ALL do!!! And unfortunately, doctors do not have our best interest but are driven by the money they get paid or different type of compensation from pharmaceutical companies. There are unnecessary surgeries and procedures done on a daily basis all for profit. And the list goes on. I have seen firsthand in my own interactions with doctors many of the things talked about in this book. And where is the outrage when there are more people dying from ADRs (adverse drug reactions) yearly of about 800,000 than WW2 and Civil War casualties combined?! The public just isn't aware because it is kept from the public eye. Rarely does the average person take time to read medical journals and information to know the truth behind what drives modern medicine. But this book compiles the findings into an easy and understandable read for the average person. And the knowledge is crucial to our good health!

These are statistics and facts that everyone needs to know. We wouldn't be in the health care crisis we are in if people knew how research was really funded. This book was published in 2010, I can only imagine how much worse the stats would be if updated with the last ten years of medical corruption.

This book was recommended to me by a physician I trust! What we all, patients and physicians and health care workers need to know.
