Bloody Valentine is a little book full of short stories relating to romance in the Blue Bloods universe.
I meant to read this years ago, but it disappeared into the depths of my book shelf. I finally found it the other day, and I decided I might as well read it. I'm sure, somewhere, I have the remaining books of the Blue Bloods I meant to years...half a decade ago...
The short stories were cute, but I don't remember half of what happened in the Blue Bloods universe. With that being said, I wouldn't recommend reading this book outside of the series. Make sure you are reading the series so you understand everything that is happening. I did a little research on Goodreads to review what had been happening in the series so far, but it would make way more sense to read it within the series.
Oliver, Allegra and Schuyler's stories were adorable and sweet, and I think this is a great addition to the series. I'd like more sweet stories like this for other series as well!!
Overall, it was cute and I enjoyed it. It's definitely just some YA side stories so it's not a must read for me by any means. If you're into the Blue Bloods, this is for you. It's vampires, ooey gooey romance, excessive drama, and lots of gossip! What else can you ask for from a YA board school-esque story? It's like Gossip Girl and Vampire Diaries had a baby.
Three out of five stars. -
I don't know why they haven't posted this but here's some product detail on the book just in case any one wants to see.
"Vampires have powers beyond human comprehension: strength that defies logic, speed that cannot be captured on film, the ability to shapeshift and more. But in matters of the heart, no one, not even the strikingly beautiful and outrageously wealthy Blue Bloods, has total control. In Bloody Valentine, bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz offers readers a new story about the love lives of their favorite vamps - the passion and heartache, the hope and devastation, the lust and longing. Combined with all the glitz, glamour, and mystery fans have come to expect, this is sure to be another huge hit in the Blue Bloods series." -
I thought of this book more as just a waster of time. Although I enjoyed knowing more about Allegra we were left with more unanswered questions. Why tell us she knew what would happen and chose a diffrent fate but not explain how she wound up on the same path. And as for Jack & Schyler's bonding I felt it lacked any feeling. I think that the simplness of it was great but I think the fact that it was such a huge moment for them that was summed up in a short story without anything leading up to it or following it made it wasteful. I would have liked it if it was included in a book that actually continued with the series. When are we going to get to read an actual book that continues and/or ends the Blue Bloods series???? Why do we keep getting these little teaser stories? I guess im just disappointed in what is going on with this series. but hopefully soon we will be able to read an actual book on Blue Bloods and not just another short story
-
First off: the mention of Freya and Ingrid seriously made me miss Witches of East End (my husband and I even got into the show)! This series of short stories is fun to read but I did not like the second one kind of cut off. It didn’t make it a bad story, just not as satisfying. The final story is Jack and Schuyler’s bonding story which was a good one for sure.
My quick and simple overall: good and fun but now I am ready to start Lost in Paradise! -
Bloody Valentine is a novella within the Blue Bloods series. At first, I wasn't super invested in this book or the short stories within it. Mostly because I didn't really see the point of the book being a book. Yes, the short stories had their moments, but it just seemed like a filler to me. In some weird way, I'm a little happy taht Jack and Schuyler are together. I'm actually happy that Oliver is finally moving on.
Besides the people I've known since book one, I did think the parts with Freya and Allegra were interesting. Mostly Freya because she was a new character to meet. Yet, Allegra had her moments in this as well. She still confuses me and I'm hoping I will be less confused before the series ends. -
Bloody Valentine delivers where Keys to the Repository was lacking. Actual novellas about some of my faves!! Novellas to fill in the blanks and give me more of what I was missing from the stories!!! AND YET I WAS SO UNSATISFIED.
I’ll break it down by novellas for ya because each one was TRULY a disaster in it’s own way.
1. The Oliver centered novella explains how he will be able to move on from Schyler. To put it simply I think this could have been handled in a much better way. It was so OOC, entirely to convenient and also I’m pretty sure it was just here so that MDLC could give a shout out to her spin off series. All things considered I was actually intrigued by the character introduced in this one and so yeah it worked I’ll probably read the spin off series. But this story wasn’t necessary, I didn’t want or need it, definitely could have lived with out it.
2. This one was actually pretty cute. Explained a lot about Allegra, but the ending made absolutely no sense in terms of the actual series. It didn’t line up with how the rest of the series goes and unless I misread it I don’t understand why the author had this happen the way it did. Left me with more questions than answers. Okay that’s not true, it answered some questions buuuuut left me with new ones
3. THIS ONE HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL. It was supposed to be so cute and great and this was literally the only one I was looking forward too and we had to go and add unnecessary plot? I literally just wanted cute fluff and instead I got unnecessary drama that literally added NOTHING to the series !!!!! At least the first two added something even if they were annoying?? The drama in this DID NOT A SINGLE THING OTHER THAN MAKE THIS LONGER THAN IT NEEDED TO BE. The ending was cute tho, I’m just mad that the novella was pointless when it could have literally just be cute fluff.
Basically I just wish all these novellas were delivered differently. 2 stars because in general I liked the end result I just wish they were handled better. -
I have been on pins and needles waiting for Bloody Valentine, the current installment of Melissa de la Cruz hit series Blue Bloods. And it's finally out today!
It took me just over an hour to read the book because it's that good. From the first page (with Oliver battling his inner demon) to the last (which I won't spoil), I just couldn't put it down.
In Bloody Valentine, the author introduces us to a new character: Freya. Right away, I knew I'd like her (which just increases my anticipation for the release of The Witches of East End which comes out in the June 21, 2011)...
Back for some added dimension are Allegra and Charles mixed with a little Bendix Chase, who happens to be Schuyler's father.
We'll also go to Endicott College, where Allegra falls in love and performs a Sacred Kiss that allows her to see what her life will be like. Of course, this portion of the novel isn't complete without Cordelia. We're given a very compelling glimpse into the twins' cycle mother... and she's pretty feisty.
Finally, Jack and Schuyler! Two of my favorite couples in the literary world are finally headed for a major commitment, but I'll let you read the book to see how it all plays out. I promise it won't disappoint!

These are cute short stories for fans that want to see some extra scenes. It's not necessary to read with the series, but I liked seeing Oliver move on and Jack and Schuyler get a happy moment. This also set up the Witches of East End spinoff, introducing the witch Freya Beauchamp. I'm looking forward to reading those books and checking out the series too.
Allegra's story was sadder because we already know that she and Schuyler's dad didn't get a happy ending. I do wish it had been longer so we could have seen more of Bendix, but know we know a little bit of Allegra's personality and thoughts at least. -

Why do I like this book and for that matter this series? I can’t explain it. It’s against all sense and reason. It’s sort of like my feelings for Shakespeare’s character Falstaff. He’s a real rogue, an old dirty letch… fat and sweaty always up to some kind of scheme to make a fast buck. Yet I can’t help loving the bastard. It’s crazy.
This book is the same… lousy title, over the top and unnecessary melodrama, some cringeworthy scenes, and cheesy illustrations. Yet after finishing the three stories that make up this tiny book, I had a traitorous half-grin on my face. What a bitch.
If de la Cruz edited out some of that superfluous drama, these stories could have easily been included in the series proper or at least have been present in her
Keys to the Repository file guide. The first story details how Oliver was able to move on from the “loss” of Schuyler. It’s also a vehicle to promote her new adult series,
Witches of East End. It certainly has more of that adult novel feel to it, but I don’t know… in this case I think a more subtle approach to the writing would have said more and have felt less trashy. The initial descriptions of Oliver’s spiral into depression were quite good, since there’s some depth in regards to the writing. But after that, the writing loses momentum, focusing on unnecessary details that left strange images in my mind's eye. As is, it does offer some explanations, but I think the story could have been handled much better.
The second story details how Schuyler’s parents met. This story is actually the weakest of the three, leaving you with more questions that haven’t yet been answered. Also, de la Cruz’s portrayal of Allegra is crappy. She’s just a blonde Barbie doll, with no real substance, only considering her own needs. She reminds me of Bliss, but I think Allegra’s worse. I find this strange, since Allegra’s voice here doesn’t really match the voice of Tomasia—Allegra’s former self in a previous lifecycle (described in book five). Tomasia seemed to have more substance. I guess after the events in Florence, which supposedly lead to Bliss’s birth, Allegra’s character and soul regressed to a shallow mindless girl. ;) And Charles, her twin, is a true emotional mess. What a whiny puppy! Though I did foresee something like this when de la Cruz changed her story in Keys, i.e. making Charles Allegra’s twin, instead of the older brother that was initially described in the early books of the series. The descriptions of Ben, Sky’s father, are rather strange, though it does seem to support my theory about his true identity—which I formed after reading book five. If you’re looking for answers from this story, don’t expect them here.
The third story is the promised Jack and Schuyler bonding ceremony. Truly, if de la Cruz edited out all of the action sequences, which essentially makes the story feel like a cheap action flick, it could’ve easily been included in
Misguided Angel. I understand why she includes these sequences—due to the final reveal at the end—but for me it just kills the story. The illustrations—which only appear here—are fine, but when I first noticed them in my initial flip through, I just cringed... more unnecessary details. Do I really understand how this bonding was possible given the vampire mythology de la Cruz provides? Not really, it’s still a muddle in my mind. Yet, hell, I found myself loving that sappy conclusion. Reason says stop right here, no more, but somehow I just can’t. I guess this means I’ll be tuning in to the next book in the series whenever it arrives. -
It was necessity that made me read this book. I am not much of a fan of book that are not the next in the series or a spin off but something in between. But this series is so complicated that it is very difficult to keep track of all the things that happened. Since I am planning on reading Lost in Time the next in the Blue Blood series soon and have no detailed recollection of the things that happened in the previous books I decided to give this one try hoping for a little memory jolt. Well that was my intention but what happened was it left me in a state more confused than ever. Other than adding more questions to my already long list of questions the book did little more than remind me the names of all the characters. Now you might ask me why I keep on reading this series if it this complicated?? and the simple explanation is the story is good. The concept is different and has this certain quality that makes you want to hang on. Even though Bloody Valentine failed to fulfill the purpose I intended it for it was not entirely a fail. Bloody Valentine is more like a continuation story rather than a recollection as I was hoping for. This contained three short stories which provided further insight in to some of the well loved characters. The first one is about Oliver as he tries to come in terms with his grief regarding the loss of Schuyler and his recovery. Though I was happy for Oliver the latter felt more like a promotional stunt for the author's next series. The next story is about Allegra Van Allen Schuyler's Mom and how she met Schuyler's Dad . Talk about cliffhangers, I am at loss when it comes to understanding the purpose of this story if the author never intended to give it a satisfying end. Then all those times Allegra kept thinking about her life cycle in Florence as though it was a turning point in the whole story I kept thinking what happened in Florence. Then I had this strange recollection of a story line taking place in Florence that was mentioned in Misguided Angel
I think. Now I am searching for the plot summary of Misguided Angel to make heads or tails of the situation. Maybe I should write down the important points when it comes to this series. Then the third story is about the bonding ceremony between Schuyler and Jack. The author requires some credit here, ending with this particular story because it will help keep the readers interested until the next book is released. But there are a number of things utterly unbelievable about this story and one of those is how any one can that easily fall in and out of love. You have to read the story to know what I am taking about. I was a little disappointed on not encountering Mimi in this book. After the Misguided Angel and getting a taste of the Mimi Force debacle I was hoping for more. Bloody Valentine is not without its merits but it is more of like a glorified prologue for Lost in Time and those who are following this series should not miss this one. -
”Bloody Valentine” is a novella in the Blue Bloods series. It consists of three beautifully written short stories each with a focus on matters of the heart--hence the title. While it is not necessary to have read all the books in this series before reading this novella, it is recommended, as two of the three stories relate to events that take place in the previous two books.
The first story is about Schuyler Van Alen's friend and familiar Oliver Hazard-Perry and Freya, a character who will be the focus of a new series by the author entitled ”Witches of East End” (which I’ll probably check out to see it it’s worth reading). It is a wonderful story that fills in some of the missing pieces on what's going on with Oliver at the same time as other things are occurring in ”Misguided Angel”.
The second story brings us back to 1985 where we get to meet a young Allegra Van Alen and the human familiar she falls in love with, Bendix Chase. This is a great addition as it gives further insight into Schuyler's parents and just how she came to be. I really enjoyed this story since thus far in the series we haven’t been given much info about Allegra’s life before being in the hospital.
The final story, and the longest, is about Schuyler Van Alen and Jack Force and their bonding ceremony which occurs after the events in ”Misguided Angel”. This is a great way to close this book as it gives readers another opportunity to see Jack and Schuyler and witness their love for one another. It bridges the long gap between the previous book and the next book in the series, ”Lost in Time”, which won't be out until October.
Don't get me wrong the content was as great as always, but the style of the books has changed a lot and they seem to be getting shorter and shorter.

Title Bloody Valentine (A Blue Bloods Book)
Author Melissa De La Cruz
Reviewed By Purplycookie -
Where to Begin.... I was deeply disappointed by this book. I feel like Melissa De La Cruz might be losing her touch with this series which saddens me because it's my favorite book series to date. This book (which isn't really a book) is just a collection of three short stories. All the short stories felt extremely rush and forced.
The first story follows Oliver and his life after Schuyler leaves. This felt out of character for Oliver, to me. I found myself actually laughing at how ridiculous the story line was until I saw the last page of the story and then it made sense. I suppose it was a very good idea but it would have been better if it were longer. This is the type if storyline that should be in the book itself, not written as a short story.
The second story is about how Allegra falls in love with a red blood. This was my favorite story of the three and it felt the most natural. It was nice to see into Allegra's past. We hear lots of odd and ends about it in the series but never actually venture into how and why it happened. This short story does which was actually very refreshing.
The third is Jack and Schuyler's bonding. I used to be a very big Jack and Schuyler shipper but they've just gotten... bland. I feel like they are one person now. This story line felt the most rushed of all. It would have been better as a story line in an actual book. It reminded me of watching a movie on fast forward. You see the overall picture but you miss all the detail.
There were also a few drawings in the book of Jack and Schuyler and I felt like they were just there to take up space on the page. I would rather wait longer for an actual good book that contributes to the series than Melissa pumping out these mediocre (and pricey) companion books to make the wait seem lesser. -
This book was only 160 pages long and cost me as much as a normal sized book would. There were 4 chapters in this book that were a extract from another book in the series that I had already read. The words were bigger than in any other book by the author. I am struggle to see the point of making this book at all. The majority of story was awful. This series was so great because of the originality and the concept of the fallen angels/vampires. But the story is now becoming a Twilight knock off where modern day people speak like they are from the past. I'm so disappointed with this. I really hope the next book in the series makes up for it or I am calling it a day with this author.

This was a little all over the place for me. It jumped from Allegra to Oliver to Schuyler and Jack getting married. It was visions Allegra had as a child. It was Oliver taking away his bond with Sky. It was Sky wedding dress shopping. Sky getting attacked. Jack and Sky getting bonded.
It was weird.

to me it just feels like De la cruz just put a mini book out to make more money. blah. over it.
Do not reccomend this to anyone unless you are a die-hard Blue Bloods fan. -

Bloody Valentine is a collection of three short stories, each following a different character or couple from the Blue Bloods series, Oliver, Allegra, and Schuyler and Jack. None of them really add anything to the story proper, but give a more in-depth look at the characters and their relationships. Well, I believe that was the point of these short stories at least. I feel as if the only one that gave more information about a character that has been mentioned numerous times, it was the story about Allegra and meeting Schuyler’s father, Bendix Chase. Who was called Stephen in the first novel, which de la Cruz addressed in The Keys to the Repository. As Allegra has been in a coma or missing in the whole series it was nice to see why she didn’t bond with Charles in this series. Again, the love was instantaneous, which is an issue in this series again and again, but I was more interested in why Allegra felt unworthy of her position and desire for freedom.
Oliver’s short story, while really giving an in-depth look into the pain of an abandoned familiar, really just felt like a setup for the spin-off series, Witches of East End. de la Cruz keeps flirting with introducing other types of supernatural creatures into the world and then stepping back at the last moment. Freya seemed nice enough and I am interested in her, but I don’t think interested enough to start a whole different series given how shaky this one has been for me to read.
The last story was truly and completely boring to me. I know Schulyer and Jack are the main characters of this series, but they get more boring by the minute to me. Again and again, we hear that they are madly in love, so much so that they want to be bonded before possibly being separated forever, but they have zero chemistry. All of their relationship has been instant love or built off-page so it feels like de la Cruz is trying to convince us that they really, truly, love one another and it doesn’t feel natural. Also, the whole fight with the Ventaors to get the ring and the fact that very spoiled and rich Schuyler just so happens to know how to sew and can hand sew a whole dress in a day? Yeah….no.
A 2.5 star read rounded down to 2 for Goodreads. -
I was planning on finishing the series this year and thought to read this novella before continuing but this was pretty disappointing. A fourth of the book was a preview for another book. And of the three stories, two could have been part of one of the other books and the third reminded me that I’m not a fan of Schuyler and Jack. This actually kind of dragged and discouraged me from want to read the last couple of books in the series.
-
Extremely short read, but I enjoyed the little insights into side characters. Wasn’t a huge fan of that last one, as since it dealt with MCs it was easier to see that there happened to be continuity errors. A few other writing style items bothered me (like a regular drink being a shot of whiskey instead of just whiskey neat), but the stories were at least complete.
-
Awww, this book was the cutest of the two side stories' tomes. It deals with three stories: one about Oliver, one about Allegra and Charles when they were teens, and one about Jack and Schuyler. The first one is about Schuyler's Conduit. I thought I would be bored because I wasn't fond of him up to the #4 book Van Alen Legacy, but this side story of him set a few weeks after Sky and Jack depart to Italy, was a pleasing read. [Beware, spoilers ahead]
Ollie was Sky's human familiar and his love for her was triplicated because she had made him his. But she doesn't love him like he wants her to. She loves Jack and Oliver has accepted it but the marks on his neck hold a sort of spell that made him long for her still. He is desperate and goes to a blood house to have his marks removed and forget Schuyler, but he can't do it. Thanks to the help of a bartender who is also a witch, he heals his soul and accepts his situation. I'm a little sad that this witch leaves town, but she's the main character of another one of Melissa de la Cruz's books, Witches of West End. I might give it a try.
The second story left me a little hunger for the characters it dealt with. We see Schuyler's mother, Allegra Van Alen, at the Endicott Accademy. She is very likeable, and thanks to her personality, she is able to make a lot of friends. Because of an accident she has on the game field, she has the chance to know a guy named Bendix. We see how her attraction to Ben changes her a little. She's been bound each cycle to her twin brother Charles - who is also at Endicott and is super annoying - and she's never loved anybody besides him. This human shows her that she can, but that if she goes too further with her dedication to him, she'll have to face a fateful destiny. Allegra decides then to stop seeing Bendix to be loyal to her twin, but we know that in the end she is not able to stop her feelings for the human. I wished we had more insight through Schuyler's parents life before she was born. I want to know where Ben is now.
The third and last story of this book is about Jack and Schuyler's bond ceremony held in Florence, Italy. As you may know after reading The Van Alen legacy and Misguided Angel, Jack and Sky elope to Europe to find the third gate. They try to look for protection in the European Coven but their Regent, Isabella D'Orleans, wants to turn them to the evil. Venators are after them after they escape her, and they try to get Jack/Abbandon to come with them because he was one of Morningstar's right arms when he rose to power centuries before. While Schuyler is in search of the perfect bonding gown, she's bothered by a visit of one of them. He wants to weaken Jack to take him and wants her to give the dark angel a cursed ring, threating Sky to kill her best friend Oliver if she doesn't collaborate. She is surprised to find Ollie in Italy, but she understands that it was a surprise her future bondmate was arranging for her. She lies to Jack in order to save her friend, and her love understands she is doing it for their well being. In the end, Schuyler is able to break the spell on Jack's ring and destroy the Venators, and the two save Ollie, also helped by their friend Bliss who had traveled to Florence just to be Sky's bondmaid. After the havoc caused by the Venators, the friends celebrate. In this side story we also understand that Jack and Sky have sex for the first time on the morning of their bonding (it was about time, haha). At sunset, they are finally bonded. Sky is on cloud nine because her love has taken her loyal maid and driver from NYC and also brought some of his friends, and the presences of her grandparents and her friend Dylan lingered at the place. The sad thing of this whole angsty/romantic part, is that on the next morning Sky has to leave for Alexandria to find the third gate while Jack has to get back to Manhattan to face his fate with the Coven. *Sigh* I needed more of this. I'm whipped for these two. -
Review written by the YA Fantasy Guide staff reviewer, Camille Morales.
Bloody valentine is a Blue Bloods novella. I am a huge fan of the series, so I was thrilled to finally read this book. I’d been waiting a long time to get it. It was totally worth it.
This book will not be your normal Blue Bloods book, because it is divided in three parts, and each part tells a different story. The parts tell: what happens to Oliver after Schuyler leaves with Jack, how Allegra and Schuyler’s father met, and Schuyler and Jack’s bonding. It does not follow where Misguided Angel left off.
The one I enjoyed most was Allegra’s and Schuyler’s father’s story. It was just so amazing how they got to know each other. They’d already known who they were, and had seen each other, but never really got to know each other. In this story, it tells you how they got to know each other. You get to see more about Charles Van Alen also. It was a really, really good story.
My least favorite, though, was Oliver’s. Before I read it, I’d thought my least favorite was going to be the bonding between Jack and Schuyler, because I like having them deal with the whole forbidden love thing. But, now they are bonded. But, the way this book ends, it makes the whole bonding make sense.
Okay, so Oliver’s story is basically about how he deals with life without Schuyler, and how he goes to extreme measures to stop the pain being away from her is causing. But this girl, Freya, helps him get through it. What I didn’t like about this one was that I thought the relationship Freya and Oliver had was too quick and rushed. But, besides that detail (which is not-so-small), the story is overall good.
So basically, I enjoyed this book a lot. I didn’t love it, but I did like it a lot, and I recommend it to everyone who has read the books in the series. And to everyone who hasn’t read the series, I highly recommend them. -
I decided to read Bloody Valentine by Melissa De La Cruze since it was right before Valentine’s Day. Immediately I was drawn to the story, which is divided into three mini stories. In the first story introduces Oliver, a young man who had just been dumped by his vampire girl-friend, Schuyler. He meets a beautiful angel in a bar and he is lead back to her apartment; where they sleep together and he forgets his feelings for the vampire. The second story goes back in time and is about Schuyler’s parents during their youth. Her mother was Queen of the Vampires; her father’s indent is not revealed but we see the two young men whom her mother loved. In the last and final story is back in the present and right before Schuyler’s wedding to the handsome vampire, Jack Force. But an evil force is out to try and kill Jack; they abduct Schuyler’s friends and make her promise to bring jack to them. But true love prevails and all the good live to see the wedding. This is a companion story but I didn’t feel like I missed anything by starting with this book.
-
this was three short stories combined to make a book. i mean, i guess they were slightly longer than short stories, but the whole book is novella length.
and it didn't really answer any questions. or move the story forward at all.
GIVE ME A WHOLE BOOK, DARN IT! I WANT A WHOLE STINKING BOOK ABOUT SCHUYLER AND JACK AND MIMI AND OLIVER.
two books have been released in this series, and neither has been fulfilling at all. i would rather wait a long time and eat the whole cake, as it were. but no, now they come out in hardback and cost more money and really, i am very tired of these things.
i am also very cranky. but. i think trilogies are as long as things should be.
and really, WHAT IS WRONG WITH STAND ALONE BOOKS THESE DAYS?? -
I usually don't love novella's, but I love this collection of them. The Oliver story was my least favorite and the Schuyler and Jack story was my favorite. I also enjoyed the Allegra story and getting that background information of her youth. This novella collection is important to the story in my opinion, especially that last story. I highly recommend reading this if you are reading the entire series.
-
A nice, light collection of novellas I read while sick in bed. I enjoyed the stories, and they were fairly romantic. The middle one about Allegra, Charles, and Ben definitely cleared up a bit of the backstory behind Schuyler's birth and stuff. I even didn't mind that much when she did the thing everyone accuses Cassandra Clare of doing-- introducing characters from spinoff series. (Seriously, Melissa de la Cruz perfected the Cassandra Clare business model.)
-
I just love everything about these short stories. I wish there was a happier end for Allegra, but I think she'll be okay overall. This was what I needed. The rest of the series is all mysetry, kidnapping, murder etc. and this was a small paradise. Sure there were some challenges, but overall they were happy stories I like to think.
-
I loved learning about Allegra and Ben. They're so cute together like Schuyler and Jack. Oh I'm so happy that Bliss and Oliver were at the bonding. Also how Oliver isn't bonded and is there for Schuyler.
-
I was pleasantly surprised with this novella! I really was not looking forward to it because the last novella in this serious Keys to the Repository was a bit of a let down and really just summed up the series at that point. But Bloody Valentine was really kind of an extension to Misguided Angel and followed its format of three parts.
Part one was Olivers story. He's having a difficult time getting over Schuyler because he is marked, and there was nothing he could do about it. The never ending feeling of loss drive Oliver to some stupid and extreme limits.
Part Two is about Allegra as a Teenager. This story was my favorite because I finally found out who her baby daddy was! Yup that's right...FINALLY we get to find out something about Schuyler's mysterious human father. We don't get the whole story but the little tidbits that I did get were enough to keep me interested.
And the last story was about Schuyler and Jack and their adventures in Italy. I love that fact that Schuyler and Jack ended up together but their relationship is quickly turning nauseating. The I love you forever and calling each other my love and darling all the time is not romantic is having the opposite effect on me and it's grating my nerves. I'm hoping they will break up so I don't have to read about their "love" anymore. Ok maybe that was a little harsh..I don't really want them to break up but I do wish they would tone it down.
Overall I really liked this novella, I just had to give it a 4 because of the cheesy romance between Jack and Schuyler. But I'm still rooting for them and looking forward to Lost in Time, the sixth book in the Blue Bloods Series. -
Bloody Valentine is a Blue Bloods Novella containing three short stories within the book.
The first one introduces the main character for a spin off series, Freya and features Oliver dealing with Schuyler's loss. I was happy for him when he finally moved on and I hope there are better things for him in the future.
The second showed Allegra and Schuyler's father's Bendix - how they met and we got a glimpse of what might have happened. I enjoyed their story and it left me a bit curious to find out who is responsible for his supposed death and Allegra's comatose position.
The final story was Jack and Schuyler's wedding which I liked the best. I am so happy that they finally got bonded, and the ceremony was beautiful. I especially liked the picture included with the text. Bliss had a small part in this book which I liked immensely and I can't wait to see more of her in the future.
