My 4 year old son really liked the story and after one time of me reading it out loud to him, was able to "read" it to himself thereafter.

I know it said children book, but I didn't understand it! What was the idea or purpose behind the story?

This book would be an interesting for boys to read as it provides the idea that the three brothers are strong and masculine. If I used this in my classroom, and since this is a folktale, I would use this to introduce traditional literature to my students as it is a fun story about three goats and a troll. This would allow my students to see what a folktale is like and how it may differ from other traditional literature works.
