Winter Harvest Cookbook: How to Select and Prepare Fresh Seasonal Produce All Winter Long Reviews

I enjoyed this cookbook. It had interesting recipes that aligned with my tastes and cooking style. It also had lots of information of winter veggies. I would recommend it!

  • Juli Anna

These recipes felt a little dated and quite repetitive for me, and there is a heavy reliance (especially in the soups) on milk and cream, which I don't tend to use.

  • Susie

Wisconsin winter. . . so hard to eat locally

  • Laura

use of unusual winter vegetables. some great traditional recipes and use of winter vegetables. unlike most cookbooks has great vegan and great meat options.

  • Zoey

This is the perfect companion to the winter CSA box we've been trying out. An illustrated glossary in the front of the book helps identify some of the local produce not common in grocery stores, and the recipes themselves offer hearty, delicious-sounding ways to use up the parsnips, carrots, and kale that overflow the box each week. For the veteran gardening cook, these may not be new ideas, but for me and my resolve to cook more often, the author's personal annotations to the recipes and gentle introduction to cooking with the seasons is just the inspiration I need.

Very thorough explanations of alot of winter vegetables. The author is from Bellingham, so the information is relevant and local. But the recipes themselves - I only bookmarked a handful to try, and nothing caught my eye as exciting or new.
