No matter how much trouble this well-meaning, ever-optimistic bear gets into, things always turn out all right. My favorite story in this book is the one where he decides to decorate his new room.

Another wonderful Paddington book, full of the same caliber of comical tales and adventures as the first.
This series has entered into my top favorites for young kids and books to recommend for family read-alouds. The narrative is top notch and as smooth and as delectable as sweet cream. And Paddington and the Brown family: simply the nicest, most endearing host of characters you'd ever want to know.
Read it. You and your kids will LOVE it!

My second favourite fictional bear, (after
Winnie-the-Pooh).
A pleasure to read about this accident prone bear. My favourite in this collection was the Bonfire night story, (I always love Bonfire night). -
I am so excited there is "More About Paddington," because I can't get enough of this sweet, innocent, little troublemaker. His intentions are good, but things always go awry. But like the author Michael Bond wrote, people always benefit from the fixes Paddington gets himself into,"however tenuously."
I laughed out loud several times while reading about the intrepid bear's adventures in this book, which include celebrating Christmas and his birthday. Paddington attempts to become, among other things, a photographer, a detective, a house painter and a snowbear (You'll just have to read it). He causes chaos for policemen, a sales assistant at an exclusive shop, and the cantankerous, yet needy neighbor Mr. Curry, who appears throughout the series. But the story is also about the Browns and Mrs. Bird, the housekeeper, who have adopted him and love him through all of his misadventures.
Adding to the adorableness, are the drawings of Paddington. His tiny frame makes you laugh when you think of the troubles he gets into. Among my favorites are the sketches of him under an elegantly set table and sporting a giant paper hat.
Speaking of the paper hat, which is worn by the British on Christmas Day, I have learned more about British traditions along with Paddington, since he is a non-native too, from "Darkest Peru" and I am an American. Still, I am a little worried about his involvement in any national celebration that would involve a bonfire (see Guy Fawkes' Day). However, he is a great cultural ambassador, because of his wholehearted enthusiasm. He is one of Great Britain's national treasures, who has a special place in my heart as well. -

Plenty more playful pileups in that peerless particular Paddington proclivity. Priceless! -

In this particular volume of autobiography he tries his paws at photography, 'home improvements ' and detection. Discovers small Peruvian bears and snow are not always necessarily a good mix and experiences Bonfire night and Christmas for the very first time.

There are several ways in which joining Goodreads has changed my reading habits, a good example of this being that I now sometimes re-read books that I enjoyed as a child. This is largely due to Kirsty's influence. Her relishing of children's books has been most contagious :-)
This time the treat was a book about Paddington bear.
His life is full of well meant plans that go wildly askew, warm and forgiving friendships (he is often in need of forgiveness), and great and puzzling conundrums for a bear from Peru.
"Paddington found that Christmas took a long time to come. Each morning when he hurried downstairs he crossed the date off the calendar, but the more days he crossed off the farther away it seemed.".

Another brilliant and hilarious installment about Paddington and his adventures. My favourite chapter has to be when he attempts to decorate his room and accidently wallpapers the door! I couldn't stop laughing when I read the sentence: "I'm a patriotic man said Mr Brown but I draw the line at bears playing the national anthem at 6 am. Especially on the xylophone." Pure genius.

Medveďa Paddingtona z počutia poznám, ale netušila som, že keď si knihu prečítame, že si ho zamilujeme. Veľmi roztomilé, ale pritom vôbec nie infantilné príbehy medveďa a rodiny, do ktorej sa dostal. Pri čítaní sme mali pocit, že sa zabátame do nejakej veľkej huňatej plyšovej náruče veľkého medveďa.

Just as charming as the first! These little stories (each chapter is a separate adventure) are so sweet and funny, and the perfect length for a bedtime read aloud! The kids are still giggling (days later) about the Bonfire Night episode.

5+ stars & 7/10 hearts. I think this one is even funnier than the first book. There are a few euphemisms, but not as many as the first book. And I still laugh aloud when I read this one—particularly the last chapter!!! It is just sooo funny. But everything chapter is funny. Mr. Curry + Paddington’s interactions are the best... xD
A Favourite Humorous Quote: “‘Well, if you don’t mind,’ protested Mr. Brown, when he saw what Paddington was up to, ‘I’d much rather you tied the OTHER end on to the camera instead of this end to my ear!’ The rest of his sentence disappeared in a gurgle as Paddington pulled the string tight.
“Paddington looked rather surprised and examined the knot round Mr. Brown’s ear with interest. ‘I think I must have made a slip knot by mistake,’ he announced eventually....
“‘Really, Henry,’ said Mrs. Brown. ‘Don’t make such a fuss. Anyone would think you’d been hurt.’
“Mr. Brown rubbed his ear, which had gone a funny mauve colour. ‘It’s MY ear,’ he said, ‘and it jolly well does hurt.’” -
Another sweet, innocent read aloud with my boys (6 and 5 years old). Paddington is so adorably clueless. He is loyal and good hearted and curious. And those qualities always seem to get him into trouble. Haha. I love when he gives a person his special “hard stare.” And Mr. Curry’s cameo appearance was just as funny as last time.
I was reading C. S. Lewis’s commentary on The Wind in the Willows, and he commented that all the characters are animals, and they’re adults in the sense that they can make their own choices, going where they wish and doing as they please. But they are also children in the sense that we never see them shouldering responsibility of any kind. Meals appear, washing gets done, the house is tidy…but how?
Paddington’s life is something like that. He occupies this magical space between childhood and adulthood…a space that isn’t reality. And because he’s a bear and not a person, it’s okay that he enjoys this strange status. We believe it and indulge it because it was impossible to begin with. -
Look you can't go wrong with these sweet lil stories, v easy to read and I love Paddington's antics, my dude gets up to so much accidental mischief it's hilarious
Christmas stories in this one in particular made me cackle (and I had to look up what a Bullseye was? one of those striped lollies in jars) -
I thought I had read all there was to read about Paddington. It seems I was wrong. All of these delightful little stories were completely new to me: from Paddington's hilarious Guy Fawkes mishaps to his first snowball fight, this book was an absolute treat.

I am really enjoying these Paddington books. The stories are just so adorable and whimsical, and they make me laugh. Plus, I learnt that a "bulls-eye" is a hard boiled lolly. I'm not sure how that knowledge is going to benefit me in life, but learning is always good! ;)

I'm re-reading the Paddington series and this one is a treat. Paddington is a teddy bear living with the Brown family and he goes on great adventures. Highly recommend!

To tell you the truth, although I've said before that I love Paddington as a character and as a TV show and not so much as books, reading this back in June in a sunny London park while eating sausage rolls and cake really got me into the right mood.
The poor benevolent Mrs Brown always tries to calm his husband down and be positive about Paddington's good intentions despite the bad results, but when Paddington has "a special reason for wanting to be alone", you can be sure it won't end well. I wouldn't be much better with wallpaper, though.
I'm not sure if it was the setting or the fact that I liked this more than the first book, but I will keep these in my Kindle for the moments when I need something light and innocent to read. -

Oh, what joy! I wasn't a fan of Paddington until I listened to this audiobook. I'd never read the books before but they're so charming, particularly via audiobook. It made me watch Paddington the movie, and I'm off to see Paddington 2 soon!

More About Paddington is a truly delightful read. I find his adventures most amusing. In his own words "Things happen to me - I'm that sort of bear!"
Paddington is kind hearted, but not everything goes to plan, despite his confidence! I particularly enjoyed chapter two, A Spot of Decorating - it's absolutely hilarious, and I can imagine it will be a favourite chapter for many readers. Yes, Paddington encounters lots of adventures, and his antics are fun and lovable! I look forward to reading more stories and adventures about this delightful character. -
Another set of cute stories about Paddington and his family. I'm going to stop here, because episodic tales become boring for me pretty quickly, but I'm glad that I checked this series out. I'd absolutely recommend this series for parents, and I'm very glad it's still in stock at libraries, because it's aged quite well and it's entirely charming.

The second Paddington book is just as interesting as the first, and doesn’t rely on over elaborate set pieces for the jokes.
