Mastering Arabic 1 (Macmillan Master Series (Languages)) Reviews

Requires a cd player to use the audio which is a necessity when learning a language. Please keep up with the times and produce online audio content to accompany.

Great for beginners with no prior knowledge. As of 2020 all the audio files are free to stream online or download free as MP3s. From the MacMillan site you can also download learning materials and links to videos. Memrise has a learning module to accompany this book
The Kindle version does not work on a basic Kindle reader, but will on most Kindle apps.
I would recommend getting the paperback book without the audio CDs so you can write in the book and use your phone for the audio.

I love this book and series. Unfortunately there is no CD, and exercises throughout the book refer to it, which is strange. I even sent an email to the address included in the book to ask about the CD but the email address did not appear to be valid. This is a pity as the CD would be a useful addition to this book.
There is a website given in the book, and this leads you to further on line materials and resources which have been very helpful.

This is not the edition advertised so I will be returning it (for the second time). The ad shows the latest cover that has icons of free online audio and video and, importantly, has colour text, photos and pictures throughout. Also the paper quality is better on the version advertised.

This book is a must for any learner of Arabic as a lot of thought and consideration went into its production. It is detailed and full of illustrations that can help improve the learner's understanding of the language. Yes, I would recommend it without any due hesitation.
