As an LGBTQ autistic therapist I was really looking forward to this book but was disappointed to discover they referred to gender critical people as a dangerous cult. I’ve worked in therapy with gender critical gay men & lesbians & found them to be thoughtful free thinkers. While I would agree that the extreme wings of gender critical thinking would accord with Dr Price’s description of a high control group each of his criteria could equally be applied to the extreme forms of trans activism. While I am not gender critical & try to find a middle path that serves all my clients this is largely useful book which helped me a lot as an autistic person but was let down by Dr Price’s failure to interrogate their own prejudices

Cannot recommend a book than Unmasking Autism! Devon really hits the nail on the head and I identified with him a lot throughout the book. So many practical steps to unmask yourself too and makes me see how much I do mask. A must read if you're autistic! Cried a couple of times reading it as I've never felt so seen. Never cried at a book before. On my second read already. There are also references and an index at the back of the book.

This book is an incredible look into the side of autism not seen in popular media. It explores the aspects of autism inherent to so many people's lives, and the incredible strain of hiding these feelings and behaviours in order to pretend to be normal.

It explains the failings of the medical establishment to properly support neurodiverse people. It also offers a new way to think about autistic stereotypes and how to thrive in a difficult society whilst remaining true to your neurodiverse self.

Great book, after my diagnosis I wasn’t sure what to do with myself or know what autism actually was only from online sources which only give very limited and bias definitions of autism this book on the other hand is written by and for someone autistic.

I have learnt a lot about myself and what it actually means to be on the spectrum and it’s great at learning to let yourself be you.

I recommend it to anyone who is diagnosed or if someone is curious or wants to know about autism from the perspective of someone autistic.

Amazing book. It was like reading my life story over and over again. If I’m able to Unmask it will totally change my life for the better!
