Meeting Management Facilitation Skills: A practical introduction to productive and engaging meetings Reviews

From a thorough needs analysis and preparation for an effective meeting to applicable facilitation methods, Meeting Management and Facilitation Skills is a valuable book for new and experienced facilitators alike. The book not only covers the foundational elements needed to be an excellent facilitator, but also gives relevant and thoughtful consideration to the impact and responsibility of a facilitator as it relates to belonging, inclusion, and systemic inequity. It prepares new facilitators with foundational elements for excellence, as well as experienced facilitators with thoughtful and thorough practices to assess one's own performance. As a graduate of the programs at the Facilitation Center, I am so excited to see Meeting Management and Facilitation Skills available as a book to the public! Throughout my career, I have used the skills learned through Stefanie I use the skills every day.

It seems like meetings are commonly done without a clear agenda or a clear goal. Something nebulous needs to be addressed, so everyone gets together and sit in the same room for a while. This book hits the ground running, establishing things from the very beginning that need to be done before a meeting. Things that will make perfect sense, but that many people have never thought of.If you want to be able to run a good meeting, read this. You'll get a framework to help you structure your meetings so that they are productive and engaging. Highly recommended.

I had used some of the ideas from an earlier text of this book, but this version incorporates a completely new perspective and exercises that make it easy to implement excellent, well organized meetings.

I have taken classes on facilitation but I always forget the details. It's helpful to have this to refer to now. I especially appreciate the chapters on Meeting Visuals and Facilitation Methods.
