Ed Emberleys Drawing Book of Faces (REPACKAGED) (Ed Emberley Drawing Books) Reviews

My five year old daughter loves this book. I guided her through a couple of the visual instructions and then she was off and running on her own. She even drew some of the characters in her class and the teacher liked them so much she posted them on the wall in the classroom. Now my daughter is teaching her grandmother how to draw some of the characters.

I love these books! They give simple instructions on how to draw using shapes that young kids know. No need to be able to read yet. My 5 year old is able to draw many of the figures. She had mastered coloring, so this was a nice next step to keep her interested in art.

I purchased this for my Granddaughter who is 8 years old.
I also purchased, Make A World, and Drawing Book Of Animals for my other Grandchildren, 12 years old and 6 years old. They found them to be very fun and at the same time help their creativity and taught them some things that they found to be very exciting!
All they needed was the book, a piece of paper, and a pencil. They were happy for at least an hour!!
I highly recommend this book that will keep your child (or adult that always wanted to doodle!) occupied and at the same be so fun!!! -
Ed Emberley is just fantastic. I had only one or two of his books as a child (30 ish years ago) and once I found out there were , I bought everyone I could find. My girls really enjoy them (now almost teens). The step by step approach to taking shapes they're familiar with and putting them together to make such cute drawings helps them to branch out into drawings of their own. We leave notes for each other and put something we learned to draw from EE's books on the note brightens everyone's day!

Bought this for my 7 year old granddaughter, but before I sent it, I did many of the faces myself and had a blast. I am not a gifted artist by any means, but I loved learning basic cartoon type facial expressions to reflect emotion and fun. Haven't heard if she's tried it yet.

As the father of a four year old who is definitely beginning to want to express herself artistically, I am drawn to Ed Emberley's drawing techniques. We're still working on circles, triangles and rectangles, but the subject matter presented is good both for starting that process as well as getting my child to express her own emotions.

I bought this as I want to animate a children's story that I have written I can't draw, but I had thought that drawing simple human faces and figures would be easy. I found that it was however, with this book I have already created a series of drawing of my main characters. I have also bought some other books by the smae author to help me with my animation project.

Different to what I expected, the drawings are small for a youngster to follow.

Easy for them to copy (5 + 8 yrs) and means that home made birthday cards for family and friends are interesting. Ed Emberley's other books are great too. Get em all!
