I normally don’t read graphic novels. But because it was a banned book in several places in the United States, I felt like I had to read it in spite of it being banned. Glad I didI I actually like the story from the perspective of a child of a holocaust survivor. Explained

For anyone who refuses the holocaust really happened should read this it is told in a way that really brings it to life and you can see how the people really suffered as told through their own eyes. God help all of us for allowing anyone to suffer like these people did.

A follow up to Maus and the same comment applies. The uncomfortable truth aggrevates those of a particular political right wing persusasion becasue it is the truth rather than history through rose colored glasses.

After reading the first book (Maus) by Mr. Spiegelman, I rushed to get Maus II. His use of cartoon animals to retell the stories related to him by his father who survived the horrors of being a Jew in Europe during WWII is at the same time compelling and captivating.

I bought the set not knowing it was in comic book format. But it really tells the horrible story of the Nazi's and what they did. Hard to put the book down when you start reading. It grabs your attention
