    I purchased Steven Rice’s SIE and Series 7 concurrently. I passed the SIE with 3 days of study and was happy with the purchase. However the 7 version is simply the SIE structure and book with a few terms added. Prior to purchase I strongly suggest going to the FINRA website to find how FINRA allocates questions; it’s vastly different from the SIE. An error I can immediately spot from reading the table of contents of this book and contrasting it with the SIE. Of course I took the time to read through this book prior to returning and since I memorized the SIE version, didn’t take me long to spot how similar it was.

    I believe this book will teach me a great deal for the test (I am only about 1/4 way through now). I feel like the writing is a bit sexist the first use of “her/she” was in reference to someone whose business was a failure, well into the book. Waiting to see if there are any positive mentions of non male genders. Also, the overarching message is this idea of “turn off your life for 6 8 weeks and just study constantly, put everything else on the back burner. You have to study like a madman and just pound away at it to pass”. This seems written for a unique type of person who has the ability/choice to do that. As someone who has young children and no one else to take care of them/the house/food prep/school/laundry/etc while I just hunker down and study, I am going to have to find a way to learn the material and be prepared that isn’t a month’s long cram session. Wish this was inclusive of people with families and offered better study/prep insight beyond the one major idea shared.

    I purchase the Dummies books and the Empire books for my trainees when studying for their securities exams. This Series 7 book is even better than the last one, which is great. They've added chapter questions to go along with the practice tests at the end of the book and online tests. This means that you'll get a ton of practice questions. I'm not sure why they added the 20220 2023 to the book because the information is certainly right for 2021. But my trainees always pass with the Dummies and Empire books so I would definitely recommend this book.

    I haven’t taken the test yet and from what I’ve gathered you’re wise to use many study sources rather than just one. I decided to start here bc the language is so easy to digest. Seems like a good starting point to get a handle on the basics. I plan to work through the 16 chapters and then see how I do on another sources practice exam (before I utilize the many exams that come with this). Thought that may give me a feel for how well the chapters prepared me.

    I have been making flash cards throughout my reading bc simply reading isn’t how my brain gathers long lasting detailed knowledge wouldn’t that be nice.

    I am currently studying for my Series 7TO and I was really struggling the the Kaplan book and videos. Just couldn’t seem to grasp the concepts being taught. Started reading this and things started clicking for me. The way everything is explained is easier to understand. Definitely recommend this book to anyone that is going to be taking this test!
