A useful way to get students (and teachers?) to understand Porter’s thinking has move on from simplistic generic strategies and that they really should read his 1996 HBR article (of the same name) and catch up on his recent video appearances. A pity many text books have not caught up either!

For reasons that are not clear, the scenes feature a series of animals the text is great, the presentation is awful I was going to use at some seminars in China, I was warned that some of the animals used are associated with the guardians of Hell and other issues best left alone.
